True story. Clipped a live wire life an idiot with these and I'm still here telling how much of an idiot I am. I thought it was a dead wire buried in my yard. It wasn't but on a positive note, I have power 300ft in the middle of my yard and I'm not dead. Tool melted but I'm here

The Irwin is a great tool. I own one and a Klein. I recently purchased a Kaiweets brand (currently $13 on amzn) to keep as a backup in my desk. I must say this design has been cloned (and refined) so much now, many chinese knock-offs seem on par with the brand names. Time will tell as to its durability.

$20 for the Irwin is a solid price. I've had mine since 2018 and paid $15 back then on a deal.

The Irwin is a great tool. I own one and a Klein. I recently purchased a Kaiweets brand (currently $13 on amzn) to keep as a backup in my desk. I must say this design has been cloned (and refined) so much now, many chinese knock-offs seem on par with the brand names. Time will tell as to its durability.

$20 for the Irwin is a solid price. I've had mine since 2018 and paid $15 back then on a deal.

Yes. Some solid online brands like Neiko and Tekton are well established vs others common in brick & mortar big box stores. I wouldn't exactly consider them a knock-off but a top online distributor of KYP products, a Taiwanese OEM. KYP owns the IP of this design; hence I consider them clones. I believe KYP produces 3 variants.

Yeah shoutout to Neiko. I've had a bunch of their tools and they're ugly, but they work and work again. Another brand to keep an eye on is Astro tools. They typically make pneumatics, but they're ever so slightly creeping into imported hand tools and they're great values.

Well I guess I'll be the odd one out. I have these and hate them. Rarely do they actually strip the wire. Usually they just slide along the jacket. I have tried adjusting them and even at full tightness they rarely work. Irwin was no help. I went back to regular strippers and it has been great not having to deal with these.

I thought I was the only one. Got a pair at a really cheap price, sat in my drawer forever. Finally got a chance to use them, and felt really stupid cuz they just slid over the wire. Feel frustrated with wasting the money...
