Inevitably also a lot of debate about A2688 vs A2343 also. A2688 may be newer but IMO it's not the best charger. A2343 (old one) is still better. A2688 is the best value though.

A2688 will always charge the the top USB-C at 65 watts which could be beneficial if you're charging a laptop and 2 other devices. If only charging 2 devices with one being USB A, then the A2343 is better since it will charge USB-C at 76 watts.

How're these for traveling with? Both seem rather heavy. Any suggestions for a travel one?

I travel with my A2343. It's in my backpack. Yes it's heavy, so I only use it when I have a solid place to sit at an airport/lounge/business or first seat, etc. When I don't and need a quick bump charge on my phone or have to deal with a loose plug, that's where I use my Nano 30W.

I find when it comes to travel you WANT high wattage. Some people have talked about opting for 67W, and I used to travel with a 2 port Aukey 56W charger. It's just not enough when you charge your laptop at 45W and only have 30 minutes til boarding. That's where you want the full 100W power--even 65W is a huge difference compared to 45W.

I'll give you my two cents.

I travel around 3/4 weeks a month. Carry a Dell laptop, iPad Pro, and two iPhones. I used to carry the Dell charger, large block and usb-c cable for iPad Pro, then a double usb-c block with two cables for my phones.

Bought the A2688 and eliminated most of the stuff above. I now just use the A2688, one USB-C cable (used for laptop, iPad, and one iPhone) and one lightning cable. It's made things much simpler and lighter.

For light travel you may need the new Anker nano 100w.

It's $29 and as small as many 45w chargers.

this is OK for what it is but only has one port. sometimes people want to charge more than one device at a time, especially when traveling.

To me it seems like the newer A2688 is the way to go except if you're an edge case who needs to charge top port at max speed while also charging other devices. I am a Mac/iPhone user and don't foresee any problem with "just" 65W on laptop port while also charging an iPhone or two on the other ports, vs 11W (76W) under the same conditions more with the older model.

Both shapes seem strange, the newer one (A2688) seems a bit more palatable.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! The new charger does not seem to officially support PPS, while the old one does?!? There are reports that some older A2688s can do PPS but only up to 11V, while newer ones can go up to 21V, however, PPS is not specifically mentioned in the product spec/manual as it is for the A2343 and the Nano 100W Frown
