I bought this exact computer last week, it's a beast. This is the motherboard: https://www.asus.com/motherboards...-a-ax6-ii/

My 4070 Super is an msi (I realize that can vary)
Memory is T Force Delta 16GBx2 5200

I found a discussion of this pc on reddit. Here is what they said about the loudness.

"I have one, and the fan loudness is fixable. For some reason the BIOS setting has the case fans going at max speed all the time, so I just went in to the settings and set up a curve. Once I did that it's much quieter now."

That's the neat part. You can upgrade the wifi chip yourself with a desktop. Also, no one uses wifi on a gaming machine.

was about to get this but not a Costco member. They want an extra $85. My membership expired in 2015. I and everyone I know have Sams club membership. Will try to find a better deal somewhere else.
This is a hecka good deal even if you have to spend an extra 60 bucks for Costco membership.

I start using this computer yesterday. Bluescreen/errorscreen appear several times. The computer automatically restarts. Does anyone have this issue? Should i return and exchange for a new one?
try to update all the drivers if that doesn't work, probably a hardware issue and may want to return it before return window closes.

Fan noise is holy cow. It's like an AC unit.

Easy fix.. and contrary to what all the randos said, is to switch the fan profile to PWM. The default is auto, and choices are DC and PWM.
Boot your pc. Spam the del button or f2.
In bios switch to adv.
And under fan settings just turn all the fans over to PWM from auto.

You'll notice the fan noise go away before you even to restart and save.
If you need help I'll post some pics.
I pulled the trigger on this yesterday for my son's 18th birthday, but was worried about the noise.

This is very clear and aleived my concern, and also a great example of what I love about this community. Thank you Dennis.

I picked this up today at my local costco. Used a bunch of gift cards and executive membership rebates I had waiting for a good deal. Components that I could initially identify w/o disassemblyMB: ASUS Prime B760 M-A AX6 IIGPU: PNY VERTO OC GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER 12 GBMemory: XPG DDR5 5200 Lancer Blade SDD: T-force Z4A7Power Supply: No labeling but 700W per box specs.Fans appear to go to a secondary/sub/controller board which ties into the USB 2 header on MB as far as I can tell. I will update this thread once I fire her up and see what the fans do.
Were you able to fix the fan speed? If yes please update a tutorial with photos. Thanks

Been using an old laptop (Surface Book 2 with i7 and GeForce 1060) as my desktop at home, and it's very slow / non-functional for editing videos from my GoPro. Is this overkill or am I going to love how fast it is?

Returned my unit. The workaround to disable the fan speeds seem to be temporary. Updates to bios and driver installation made the fans spin with very loud noises. I had a 500$ desktop running whisper quiet continually for 6 years now. It's hard to hear the noise even for 12 hours

How hard is it to spend 20 secs to go back into the BIOS and set the fans after you do all the drivers/setup?

I did buy this, the same setup at ibuypower would be almost $2,000

i believe the bestbuy CyberPowerPC - Gamer Supreme Gaming Desktop - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is a good match for $1429 but i am not sure if it is still available.
Cyberpower is a trash company that doesn't honor their warranties and it's a flip of the dice if you'll have some obscure problem a year later.

Is this a worthy upgrade from my three year old system below?

ABS Gladiator Gaming PC - Intel i7 10700KF - GeForce RTX 3070 8GB - G.Skill TridentZ RGB 16GB DDR4 3200MHz - 1TB Intel M.2 NVMe SSD
What's wrong with that PC, lol!

I can use some advice. I can wait on a laptop for 6 months. With 15th gen chips and 50 series GPU coming out soon, will this desktop be much cheaper after 6 months?
If tariffs hit, it'll be quite a bit more expensive.

I've seen this issue before but not specific to this PC. Try this... Turn off the PC, unplug it from power, and attempt to power it on. This forces the capacitors to empty out. Give it a few seconds, you might hear a "pop" type sound, that's normal. After about 10 seconds, plug it back in and power on. See if that fixes it for you.
I tried that but the problem still persists. I even reset the computer to see if that helped. Still nothing is being detected. Thanks anyway tho. I just returned the unit.

After doing all the windows updates, bluescreen still appears here and there. I probably have to exchange for a new one.
