Chicago is an extremely vibrant and world class destination in itself. But please, stay away and let the rest of us enjoy it.

I used to live in Brisbane. While the city itself is nice, going all the way to this part of the world is only worth it it IMO if you hire a car and drive up to Cairns to see all the destinations between, or drive south.

Cairns in March though? I booked for spring break but it looks like it's monsoon season then. We were planning to head south and save the northern part for another time. Thoughts?

Oh I didn't look at the dates. I'm not knowledgabke about the risks of monsoon season, but if the risk is low I highly highly recommend going north and into the forest and reef. You can drive down to Sydney, an incredible destination for visitors, and it would still be a great time.

I'm having a hell of a time booking a flight. The dates and prices show as available and then when I get to the end of the process I get a notification saying the dates and flights you've chosen are no longer available. If they're not available, why am I able to select them??

Edit: I had better luck booking through Expedia, although the prices were $712 each instead of $680 for the dates selected

Brisbane is super boring, don't do it. Go to Oklahoma City and pretend you're seeing kangaroos, koalas and dingos, same thing.
