This is a great deal thought this was for refurbished. In for one. Have the xm3 and xm5. I like my 3's better. Getting these 4s because I know my 3's have to fail at some point.

I have both the XM3 and the XM4 and i use both everyday. One will charge while the other is on my head. Two sets of these is the way to go. I really can't tell the difference between the xm3 and xm4 except that the xm3's have more mileage on them and don't fit as snug as the xm4's. They perform and function identical from what I can tell, (and I have used them both everyday for years and years)

Some differences that may affect you include: a design change so it doesn't fold. So the carrying case is noticeably chunkier, more relevant as these are often used for travel. Earcups are wider but shallower. There's a weight distribution change but Sony reduced the padding on the headband. A bit of a bummer that these tradeoffs have to be made when paying more for the latest.
