I am in! Been waiting for the price to drop on this baby...

Correction to the front deal posting, it is:

120 watts per channel into 8 ohms (20-20,000 Hz) at 0.08% THD, with 2 channels driven

Not 20 watts - or I will be very sad when I get mine...

You contacted them directly, so I'd go with whatever they told you but TO MY KNOWLEDGE, there is no altered new vs old version of the RZ50.

The manual clarifies this issue; North American models get zone binding posts while European, Australian and Asian models do not. (Source: https://d19veyprpmwslj.cloudfront...1667423113)
The only real issue will be for those that want a 7.1 setup PLUS a stereo zone, which is not possible with the Non-NA version. This has been the case since the 50 was launched.

The RZ50 can only power 9 channels regardless, so even with 11 binding posts, you aren't playing audio through all 11 at once.
If somehow BuyDig is selling, in NA, RZ50's WITHOUT Zone 2 binding posts, I'm not sure how but it's not because they are selling old vs new stock.

I personally think it's far more likely they just screwed up the product image and are using non-NA image of the rear of the unit in the listing.

Thanks. I realize they're overkill now but I also wanted some future proofing as I can see myself adding 2 more channels and a sub in the next couple of years.

But both options can accomplish that. I suppose the other question is how easy it is to cancel an order from electronic expo since it already made an order for Denon x3800h.
If you have no brand preference then this may be the better gamble.

Yes it's much older but still relevant, has more power & Dirac Live & Dirac Live Bass Management is now included at no extra cost.

Once you get a sub and If you want Dirac's subwoofer RC(DLBC) sounds like they working on straightening it out, you can just wait it out until they do.

Like the 7100 you get Dirac Live included.
Neither offers Dirac's subwoofer correction/integration.
I still don't understand why they couldn't just make it one thing. A separate license for just bass?

It's a proprietary system and as you can see many people believe their subwoofer RC is not required/a benefit.

Often people believe they can do just as good a job as their RC.

The majority of people are content with just DLFB and or DLBM.

I've had this unit for almost a year. Still trying to figure out why eARC is not automatically switches to the unit. It basically keeps the whole system on mute for several seconds when both tv and receiver turned on and then switches to TV speakers only 🤷

For all of you thinking of ordering this, note this is the OLD version with only 9 speaker posts and not the newer version with 11. I have been looking for this model and noticed in the picture the back is different than the one on the Onkyo website. Less banana speaker posts.. I emailed them last night and they confirmed this is the old version 9.2. Compare images before buying to make sure you are getting what you want.

You're thinking of the 70, not the 50. This isn't the "old version", it's a different model entirely.

It does, sorry. I thought it was on par with the nr7100
It is on par w/the 7100. It's important to understand the differences b/w the clones.

The DRX 3.4 is the only one of the clones with the pre-outs whereas the 7100 and Pioneer 305 do not.

There is no old version. Are you confusing the amp power for speakers (9) vs processing capability (11)? The final 2 channels require external amps for processing and use of the pre-outs!

That's interesting never noticed that!
It does have the preouts for it though! 🤔
Did you happen to ask what was the purpose/difference?

It looks like they have pulled out the Zone 2 speaker connectors and made them dedicated. This model from Buydig has them shared with Height 1 (and BI-amp)

No. I just asked them about the speaker posts and their picture as opposed to the one on Onkyo's website and they sent me this " on our eBay listing for the Onkyo TX-RZ50 (Item ID: 315144591465), it mentions that the receiver has 9.2 channels and 9 speaker posts only which is the older version."

Should I go for this for future proofing (perhaps KEF R3 upgrade in the future?) or the costco x1700h with q150s, any thoughts on this?
