Weird, I bought a few of the 43" 4K versions of this in 2021 for $99. Why are we back to 1080p?
It's Walmart's response to Target's $99.99 Westinghouse 43" TV (now sold-out) from Sunday. 5% off using RED card brings the price down to $94.99. So, Walmart set the price to $94, beating Target's price by 99 cents difference.

I've had just the opposite experience. I love my Hisense the best and my onn tv isn't bad either. My tcls have very poor picture quality though. Now all my tvs have been Black Friday specials so maybe the high end tcls are better but at least their cheap ones have been crap for me

There are some very positive reviews on the Onn line of products. I have an Onn streaming box and I have been very happy with it. This is a 43 inch Roku based smart TV for a very reasonable price. I would not have buyer's remorse over it. If you are concerned, find out how long you have to purchase the extended warranty on it. If you are a Costco member, ask there if you can purchase their extended warranty on this purchase. They used to sell the Fair Trade warranty but I think they now use a different vendor.

I got the 40" version of this TV back in 2022. I paid a similar price then and have zero regrets. The interface isn't the fastest, the color is obviously nothing like my OLED in the living room… but what should I expect? For this price it's been a great TV that has looked plenty good enough for me as a bedroom TV.
If you get this, consider getting a cheap sound bar to go with it. The sound quality wasn't great but also not nearly as bad as some other cheap TVs I've used before. Up to you if it's worth the extra money - good luck!

I own both the (2023) Onn 43" 1080p from Black Friday last year, and now the (2024) Westinghouse 43" from Target that I unpacked today. The Westinghouse 43" has a slightly louder sound with slightly better sound quality than Onn. Not dramatic difference, however.

Westinghouse's power button is a joystick type with separate menu button located at the rear right, while the Onn only has one power button at the bottom of TV.

can confirm ONN and Hisense are 2 brand that are junk. TCL is good, but won't recommend buying from walmart. Insignia is a better brand overall.

Not sure about this. I had a 43" TCL from a few years ago that worked, but the PQ wasn't as nice. Replaced it with a 50" Hisense U6HF that I got from Amazon in 2022 for $160 and its amazing. Runs about 10-11 hours/day and still going strong. Picture quality is great and I have now gotten used to the Fire OS. I have a 55" LG C8 OLED and just bought a 65" Samsung S90D OLED. My Hisense doesn't beat either of them in PQ, but that isn't expected at 10% of the price. However, it holds its own and has been reliable considering the usage and time at this point. Picture is very vibrant and accurate. No issues watching HDR/DV shows/movies or SDR sports.

I really think the TV market is a crapshoot... Over 15 years I have purchased mostly the black friday TVs like Sharp, Sonyo, ONN, Insignia, Hisnese, LG, and TCL. I did splurge once and purchased a Nice Samsung 55" but it died along with a 65" LG, Sharp, and 43" Sonyo. My longevity winner is the Insignia which I have now had for 10+ years. (1080P 50"). I gave my dad a 12 year old Philips plasma 60" thats still going strong. I spoke to a tv repair guy about what to do with failed TVs and basically unless its a Samsung or Sony likely you toss it in the trash as the cost/hassle to get a new board or panel is not worth the time.... If you have a lot of money the TV get an extended warranty or buy it at costco on an CC that provides extended warranty. So when I to replace a TV I just hope is close to BF or Superbowl Sunday!
