…I can get "FREE" $1-10 past gen games like COD MW 2019 on Xbox One for $5 (seriously!) AND the free monthly $5 reward PAID for that.
Repeat the purchase for other cheap games, Pokemon card, tee shirts etc for 2 more months to break even, and you come up ahead for the remaining 9 months assuming you're going to buy more.
The only caveat I can think of regarding free $5 monthly rewards is that the filler cheap games aren't great to choose from. however as long you can find something for less than $24.99 it great. Mario Oddysey for $24.99 pre owned, 22.99 for pro member. Use that $5 reward to bring it down to $17.99
It worth it IMO. Just sharing one decent benefit and pardon my grammar
There is no way you are getting those done these days, so please do not spread misinformation and get people to sign up for this membership for that reason alone.

In DMV area , my experience with them in past few years is so bad I gave up on this.
On top of that so many restrictions for using the rewards

GameStop is a garbage company
Seven or eight years ago I bought three PS4 controllers online during a B2G1 50% off sale
Ever since then I haven't been able to check out of the website
When I called in, no associate could help me. They were all very confused. When I spoke to a manager, he was an asshole and falsely claimed I was a reseller (I am not)
Since then the mobile app was the only way I could check out
In October I purchased Steam gift cards using my PayPal account
Since then mobile transactions have failed too
All of my credit cards now fail both via PayPal and via card
When I emailed GameStop support
No matter how I explain the problem the response is to tell me to go into a GameStop store
Even if I tell them the closest Gamestop is 40 minutes away (it is) and that I have a disability in making going into the store difficult (I do)
GameStop is a garbage company take your money elsewhere no deal is worth there unethical bullshit
