One difference I know of is that QD5 is Google TV while QD6 is Fire TV.
I picked up this TV from BB yesterday. I needed a cheap tv for the bedroom. Setup was quick. It takes a couple seconds to gather itself when your first turn it on but them everything has been smooth. I tried Hulu, Netflix, Plex and YouTube. All working fine, I connected via wireless and I have food Internet so no issues with streaming. I was impressed with the speakers, I had no intention of putting in a sound bar or anything. I also paired my airpods to it so I can watch at night without disturbing anyone, that was quick and easy and no audio delay.

Overall for the price I am happy with the picture quality, sound and software.
First I bought the 43" q6 from Costco. That tv sucked, washed out colors, piss poor viewing angles. Thinking I got a bad set I returned it and got the same tv in a 55". The great cosco warranty kept dragging me back in. The 55" was just as bad plus the sound would kick out intermittently and I'd have to do the unplug/replug/wait routine. Inspite of all the qed labeling and positive reviews I just don't get the hype with these tvs. They suck so much that everytime it pops up on SD I have to add my comments. I researched Rtings and based on their recommendations I purchased the Hisene u7n (TCL QM7 and Q7 also highly recommended. I'm a cheap (frugal) b*****d and the additional cost of these tv's are well worth it. Godspeed.

It's been this price for at least a week. Still can't find the differences between the Best Buy exclusive QD5 and QD6.

I think Costco has the fire TV ones. Best Buy also sells QD6 with Google TV, but only 75" and 85" I think

Two differences I have noticed: The qd5 claims to have vrr and motion rate 240 and the qd6 from Costco doesn't claim to have vrr and it has motion rate 120.

My qd6 from Costco has 0 clarity/motion settings. Debating on returning it for the qd5 or a7n

Where did you see the VRR and 240 motion rate for the QD5? On the Best Buy site, there is no mention of VRR, and the motion rate reads 120--just like the QD6.

It says vrr in the description and it says motion rate 240 if you scroll through the pictures but in the specs it says 120 so that's probably what it is. Very confusing listing

Yeah, I've seen lots of discrepancies on all retailers' websites. Going to the manufacturer's website helps clear things out, but Hisense doesn't seem to have anything on some of these QD5s.

Yeah that's annoying. I guess we can assume it's identical to the qd6 besides having Google TV vs Fire TV

If I had to guess, those specs like vrr might only apply to larger models in that product line, IDK? If you're using it as a gaming monitor (up close use), I would check to see if it has an IPS screen. That's the only time I recommend IPS over VA.

I think you figured it out, most of the budget tvs aren't better than 5 years ago, some worse. Insignia, LG, and Samsung budget tvs are better than anything hisense/vizio/roku/tcl. Better brightness and colors, insignia has the best sound usually. Unless you go up to that $600-1000 you won't see much jump in quality. People should go to wallyworld and BB and look at all budget sets, you can see which is crap and which is ok.

Seeing talk about motion rate; motion rate and refresh rate are not the same thing. The TV in this deal is a 60hz panel. 60 FPS is all you will get when gaming. The motion rate will just give you the soap opera effect in videos.
