Has anybody tried using their warranty on KokenUSA or any of their authorized dealers? Koken is really stingy about their lifetime warranty. Everywhere I read, it was a nightmare, almost like pulling teeth, to even get your ratchets warranty from them. It's not just KokenUSA, but all the other "authorized" dealers too.
I contacted Haus of Tools(authorized koken dealer) and they said to contact Koken, I'm assuming KokenUSA for all warranty claims. Not to be confused with Koken, as in Koken Japan. The Japanese don't believe in lifetime warranty. It's purely an American or western thing.

Yeah, you have to buy through an Authorized Dealer, such as Amazon (direct), Zoro, Palmac or Koken USA. That said, sometimes Japanese brands can be a PITA with warranties - I know Panasonic, for ex, is horrible. That said, Koken USA (located in Massachusetts), as far as I know, is where you get your Koken USA warranty handled and I haven't heard any specific complaints about Koken USA not honoring warranties as long as you bought your Koken tool from an Authorized Koken (USA) dealer.

I own one of their 3/8 ratchet z series, and I love them. I'm reading Ko-ken USA's warranty for the first time, and holy crap! It's like a lawyer wrote that. Basically don't go overboard with their products. If everybody followed that suggestion, then we wouldn't need lifetime warranties in the first place. I don't mind paying a bit more if producers factored in the cost of warranty claims that into their products. I would rather have the piece of mind, than be restricted from using my product however I want.

Better deals on Ko-ken? You mind providing a link to one of those "better deals" (including shipping costs from Europe)? The Mr Worker website is the definition of "shipping kills the deal."

Bro that's 30$ for a keychain.

Koken is great but I bought a impact extension that was missing the ball detect and when I emailed them no response so buyer beware as far as customer service.

Shipping is not bad at all if your buying multiple things. It's like $20 and hardly goes up as you add things.

It's a tool not just a useless keychain. For a quality ratchet the price is ok, not sure how good that one is.

This is nothing. Check out /r/EDC on Reddit. (If you are not familiar with Reddit, it is the "Everyday Carry community" on Reddit. www.reddit.com/r/EDC/)

Some of those folks would strap a tank on their back, if they can.

Way better deals from Amazon (look for Amazon Japan sellers below the default price/seller).
