That's how bought my XSX, but it was a terrible process for me and I'd never do it again to save a few bucks.

Microsoft flagged my account after I input almost $600 worth of gift cards from Costco. When I went to check out they changed my payment method without telling me (I guess because they flagged my account) and i think they charged my PayPal account or something instead of my gift cards. I canceled the order as soon as I noticed they didn't use my gift cards but then they wouldn't allow me to order a second Xbox even though the order never went through. I spent around 2 hours total across several phone calls and chats and took about 6 days before they would allow me to spend my gift cards and order an Xbox. They kept questioning me about where I got my cards from and treated me like a criminal. In the end it all worked out but no way was that worth the $50 or so I saved.

Looks like this also applies to PlayStation and Nintendo gift cards.

The best deal is the Nintendo $50 for $39.99, which is 20% off.

I generally buy the gift cards for their 10% off and then try to buy games on sale on top of that.
Last year this was 20% instead of 15% I think.
Of course I neglected to check upcoming sales and purchased one at the 10% off last night thinking they weren't doing it for BF this year. Now I'm trying to get $5 back 🤣

I agree, bought 2 of the Nintendo ones, because I prefer having the games digital. Time to buy Super Mario RPG! Big Grin

Good for a gift to someone and you need a legit code.

Otherwise if I buy it for myself I'd get it from gray market places like Woot. Then load it up to your MSFT account right away.

I don't think "gray market" means what you think it means. -Amazon

How much cheaper is it? I've seen best prices on like Eneba but even then it's comparable to Costco

Use to be like 20% off but nothing's been popping up lately unfortunately.

Assuming your Dollar General let's you pay with credit or debit card. I just walked out of my Dollar General because they refused to let me pay for the Xbox gift card with my credit card and required cash for the purchase...
