This is not a good buy at all. Tiny 41Whr battery and 300-nit display. For $110 more you can get the X1 Carbon Gen 12 with similar specs, but a larger battery, larger and brighter (400-nit) display, better build (the X1 Carbon is the flagship lightweight ThinkPad), and about the same weight.

That X1 looks good, but I'm waiting till next year. Hopefully it'll be a Core Ultra 2xxV in there at Thanksgiving.

The problem with the X1 Carbon is it will last 15 years, so I'll end up with some ancient fossil with no excuse to upgrade.
I'm currently in the market for a laptop because the 2020 Costco BF HP I5 (10th gen Intel) laptop for $280 died, and that's a great excuse to get something newer.
My wife's X1 Carbon that has been daily used and went through a medical program has lasted a decade now. Original battery and everything. It's so old, it uses a docking station.

Same here. The X1 Carbon Gen 13 looks fantastic, with Lunar Lake and weighing just 2.2 lbs. For right now, if you want Lunar Lake, the Asus Vivobook for $650 from Best Buy is a great buy. I got it last week, it's excellent and has amazing battery life.

Also, the X13 Gen 5 Intel has a starting weight of 2.47 lbs, not 2.2: https://psref.lenovo.co
