wow, I built a PC with my son a few months ago with almost the same specs, except the CPU was a i7-14700K, had 48GB of DDR5 RAM, 1000W PSU, and a geForce RTX 4070 Super 12GB video card, probably spent about $2300. Other than my RAM and PSU, this is a better PC build.
What is the point of even building PCs from scratch anymore? It's easier and cheaper to just buy it preassembled it seems.

Not bad, but the jury is still out on the intel chips. Not a risk I'd be willing to take long term. Here are the two best Black Friday deals out there as of the time of this post (hopefully this helps some of you decide):

The Best Buy 7800X3D / 4070 super deal ($1430): https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cybe...plashNote: ~5 hours left on this deal at the time of this post.

The Costo i9-14900F / 4070 super deal ($1300): https://www.costco.com/ibuypower-...91940.html

The intel CPU issues 'appear' (needs long-term testing) to have been addressed with BIOS updates, but it's on a dead socket with no upgradability past this year along with the potential for chip degradation.

The 7800X3D is on a socket that should be there until 2027ish, and it outperforms the i9-14900F if you intend for this rig to be a gaming rig. If you're going for productivity, the i9-14900F is the clear winner, but for most folks the 7800X3D is more than enough. I'd recommend getting an AIO cooler for the Costco deal if you pull that trigger on that, the 14900F should run a tad cooler than the 14900K with lower power draw, but the simple air tower is a bit on the low side for cooling it properly.

Note: The Best Buy deal is out of stock to ship, but if a location has one in stock near you, it's the best Black Friday PC deal I've seen yet by a fair margin. The 7800X3D went up in value, will hold value longer, and outperforms the i9 for gaming at lower temps. Also, the 4070 super is considered by many experts to be the 'sweet spot' for efficient 2K gaming. If you're trying to push VR or 4K, that's a different beast.

If you can pull the trigger quick, I'd save the $600 for future upgrades and snag the proven 7800X3D deal at Best Buy!

Yeaa I was thinking the same. Unless you have a microcenter there's probably no way you can match pre-builts.

Also stacks with the 1lg6PtHhZ5S8 coupon code for $100 off 2000+ or $50 off 1000+. Can add warranty or anything else to bring the product total slightly over $2000. So this deal is effectively $1900 with free expedited shipping (order shows delivery by Dec 4). You also get Lenovo rewards, and the sites currently have 11% offers for Lenovo right now on top of everything else. So with all discounts considered, is basically $1700. And PayPal is accepted, so of course, used my PayPal Mastercard for 3% back.

Slick deal!

I broke down and got a lenovo legion t7 desktop during covid when it was impossible to get a graphics card. They're good quality builds and reasonably priced, but their bios and mobos are locked down. Atleast on my desktop there is no enabling XMP for swapping / upgrading ram. Also the extra m2 slots were PCI gen 3.

But if you never want to upgrade or tweak the system and happy as is - this is a deal to get hands on a 4080 super.

How did you get it to Stack? I tried the one they gave me and the one you provided and they keep telling me Threshold coupon(...) not applicable, also I used Paypal with Freedom to get 5% back, you can also use CB for 10%.

For sure! - just helping people navigate the price-to-value Black Friday ocean...which is pretty small thus far :-P

Cart Threshold Savings- $100.00
Instant Savings- $555.80
eCoupon Savings- $630.99

I added a warranty to get it over $2000. Though even without that, you still get $50 off 1000+. But obviously worth adding a bit to get the full $100.
