Now that Anova has gone to a pay subscription model for their wireless app -- what app features (if any) do you get for free and which are part of the paid subscription?

I can look past the subscription features. As far as I can tell, they're just convenience features in the app and don't change anything about the sous vide that you would normally expect to have.

What I'm more curious about, as someone who has never sous vide, how often do people actually use theirs? I don't cook steak often, so this seems like a buy that would stay in the cabinet and be used maybe once or twice in the year.

I use mine for reheating grilled and smoked meats.
Also it makes a really good poached egg.
