Personally I wouldn't recommend it. Rip cuts are just sooo much easier on a table saw, and cross cuts are more repeatable and accurate. I've tried to replace my table saw and/or miter saw with a track saw and mft table, but once the stock starts to get smaller, the track saw starts to feel much more unwieldy and clunky. Try building a drawer with just the track saw and see how you like the process. That should give you a good measure of what life without a TS looks like.

If you need the festool version of this. May as well get the actual festool version Slightly cheaper (< $145 shipped) from https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/aw/d/B0841TNSM4/
Throw in some other German tools for the win (hazet bit holders or some Knipex, for instance).

I've got a Sawstop job site table saw and a Festool track saw using Makita rails. We recently moved to a cozy townhome with a one-car garage, and I'm wondering if I should sell my job site table saw and just get some accessories for my track saw instead. What do you think?

has anyone used this, is it worth the cost? I use a tracksaw often, and have pretty good results, but I'm always looking for ways to improve

Love our festool track saw with the scoring blade. Great once you dial it in. This would help so much with cutting panels

I have not used this specific rail square, but I do have one of similar dimensions. It works well for rough breakdown of stock 4 ft or less. When you start doing things longer than that, you are better off jointing an edge and measuring off it (or using parallel guides if that's your thing). There really isn't any dimensional repeatability built in to it, so mostly I use it to prep a square edge to bring to the TS for final sizing.

Festool licenses the design from these guys, so this is kind of the actual item. Buy whatever color suits you best, but if you're going to get the parallel guides as well (suggest doing so), get this one--they make what I feel is the best combination in the business.

I "think" the festool is the v1 version of this one though. The biggest difference being slide on vs drop on. But, yes, AFAIK 100% fully licensed copy.

Good point, I forgot about the drop on ability of the v2. So, yeah, added convenience factor for the slight bump in price. It looks like the hole spacing is correct for the parallel guides as well.
Either way, for those who are reading on, it sort of turns your guide rails into a pretty precise xtra-big T-square, which is always handy.

Which parallel guides do you suggest buying?

FYI they have a Ridgid compatible guide rail square. I think the only company that makes one, for those on that platform: https://tsoproducts.com/guide-rai...rack-saws/

The TSO 20" parallel guides would make the most sense for 90% of the cuts I ever do, the rest could simply be measured/marked the old fashioned way. However, I bought my set before they were available, so I've got the 30" ones. Will probably pick up a set of 20" for portability sake--as they can pack cleanly into a systainer. I've never had occasion to need the 50".

The TSO ones. They're pricey but very high quality. I think from people that have compared Festool, Woodpeckers and TSO, TSO is the universal winner.

From the research that I've found, a good amount of woodworker loves it! It's great to pair with your track saw. I'm going to myself the v2 Smilie
