Does this integrate well with Sonos? Or a different model better?

That would depend entirely on your receiver. Vintage wired is a lot better than any Sonos for a fraction of the cost.

So long as you understand you'll lose some fidelity jumping from wired to sonos, I'd recommend line-in to a Sonos Port over bluetooth, in which case any turntable would work fine in that regard (i.e. don't try to find something with bluetooth output for this purpose).

The absolute cheapest (budget) option would be a set of powered speakers. For example these:

Edifier R1280T Powered Bookshelf Speakers - 2.0 Active Near Field Monitors - Studio Monitor Speaker - Wooden Enclosure - 42 Watts RMS

Lower end Fluance have built in pre-amps, so you do not need a receiver with phono in. You can size up (and spend more) for louder options.

Of course if you want to fill a room with sound, at some point a dedicated receiver and passive speakers would be better.

Excellent suggestion above. By far the easiest way to get a turntable up and running on the cheap. $300 total for the turntable and speakers suggested.

Whats your budget? I would suggest powered speakers $300 (Klipsch or Edifier) and phono $250 (zen phono 3)

I did the same idea for my retro 16yo also in anticipation of her college needs for the future... did the monoprice deal (out of stock) and the edifer s1000w (bit pricier but bigger woofers and the wifi will let it serve as a speaker for amazon commands which she is used to)

My u-turn orbit and Kanto speakers is a nice setup. Has a upgrade path if you wanna get a subwoofer too.

Nice because they sound very good but aren't so loud they're breaking walls down. More of a quality over boom, which is probably good to limit a teenager with lol.
