UAE stands for United Arab Emirates. Basically it's an imported version that was manufactured for the Middle-East and Southeast Asian regions and some details of the packaging and product may reflect that. Many games you can't even tell from the front cover, which is deceptive. I can't speak to any differences with this specific item, and Nintendo Switch (base) games are region-free and should work in any system, however at least a small number of games are known to have problems getting DLC (downloadable add-on content) for them due to region-related issues. Another thing is that some places like GameStop may not accept imported versions of products should you want to sell it at some point. They are generally valued less and less desirable to buyers than their native US counterparts as well.

Not 100% sure. But per Reddit users, only difference among different versions seems to be the default language which can be changed easily.

I wonder if you'd be able to submit a warranty claim if anything went wrong given that it's not a North American version…

Would love to hear from someone who has experience with a game from a different country. I've been looking for this game. I'm getting my kids the switch for Christmas. Apparently this game isn't sold in the US anymore?

Good point. Somehow I doubt Nintendo would honor warranty claims for products sold outside of their intended market.

I own a handful of import titles including UAE. This game will work exactly the same as the US version. Main difference is the distributor information on the back.

Ehhh Best Buy & Target both currently have it in stock online. I often see it in-store as well, especially at Target where most locations I've been to lately have had it. Walmart on the other hand.... not so much.

That's fine for the duration of the return period (30 days?) but after that you may be SOL.
Yeah, they actually accept returns until January 31st, so that's a solid return window. If it's like the EU version then it will just be a code anyway and there isn't any other tech in it, just the loop and the leg strap.

Ordered, if anything coming from a third party distributer gives me more motivation to use it that first month of January. Although I don't know how that works if it is indeed a code and not a cartridge, can they unregister the game from my account?

Fair enough. I don't have experience with one of these so I don't know what can go wrong with it but yeah, there doesn't seem to be much to it on a hardware level like if it was a console or controller.
