Fantastic deal. Wish I wore mediums - I'd stock up on these for sure.

bought single pair february 2018 for $8.50 so there's something that didn't go up in price I guess?

they are crazy thick though, you need room in your shoes

I only use them to break in new shoes

I remember years ago working in a specialty running store and these were $10/pair full price…and I thought that was pretty high. They are nice socks though.

If you are not a runner you probably don't know that these are phenomenal socks. They last many years maintain softness after many washes and are VERY comfortable. Probably the most popular sock among runners.

My guess would be cotton. Haha. He/she has no idea what they are talking about. Balega's are a runner's best friend. This is coming from somebody who runs and have many pairs.

I'm betting they'd say cotton as well. The cotton industry really hammered absorbency as a virtue into our collective head over the past century, and while materials science has progressed greatly in recent decades, it's hard to overcome that kind of programming. To this day my parents refuse to buy anything but cotton tees, because they swear they're cooler.

I have actually never tried Balega, but I've been quite impressed with smartwool's running socks. Might try a pack or two of these, though, since they're about half the price per pair.

More than likely plastic = poison crowd. There were similar comments with various smartwool deals because the expectation was 100% merino wool when in reality you really don't want 100% merino wool in an active setting.

These are my favorite socks. You are correct: they are not no-show, but you can only see the tabs and the very top while wearing low sneakers. I would not recommend these for high-tops and especially not for boots.

Yes. This is SD after all. Price matters most when they fail to understand that it may even be cheaper to pay more upfront for quality clothing that can outlast the cheap stuff.

Once you try a quality sock you'll never buy a cheap pair again. As for never trying Balega, quality-wise they are on par if not better than Smartwool. You won't be disappointed.

I heard these were a good brand, but I'm not paying that much for plastic socks.
