Currently reading The Liveship Trader (Mad Ship). Robin Hobb is one of the best writers in my fantasy. It's nice to see a female writer in fantasy.

I love this series. I've read it previously in trade paperbacks and library books, but have been wanting it for my kindle library.

Need to revisit the Fool books and liveship as well.

Wouldn't say they're the best ever, but an interesting writer with fun ideas in the interconnected "Realm of the Elderlings" series. Some ideas may seem similar to fans of Game of Thrones, with the reappearance of Dragons in the later books, and a couple other themes as well through the other series (which suddenly makes me rather suspicious when noting they were written around the same time.) I particularly liked the Assassin books ("Farseer Trilogy"), but the "Liveship Traders Trilogy" and Rain Wilds books were quite interesting too. The "Tawny Man Trilogy" ('Fool' books) and "Soldier's Son" books didn't really stick with me and don't even remember if I read the "Fitz and the Fool" books.

I've read everything by Hobb, except the Soldier Son Trilogy. These three books are her "least best" in the Realm of the Elderlings series. However, they are very good. I have read over 1,000 books of fantasy, and only a handful of characters stand out. The "Fool" is one of them. Currently, the much better Liveship Traders series is free to listen to for Audible members (and should be read before this series).

After reading and digesting her amazing (and disturbing IMO) Farseer books, I'll read anything else by her. Incredible writer.

I read this before I knew of Robin Hobb's earlier works and it's just OK for me. The Farseer trilogy is another level. I would start there and then the Liveship trilogy.
