yeah seems everyone is shopping 2tb and up now, so the better deals are on those.
I went with the Samsung 980 Pro 2tb for $108
I can still use 500-1tb for old pcs. Would pay less for less popular capacity. For my primary and external storage i'd like at least 2tb but i can never pay that much after the recent $30 deal.
dramless 1tb 4x4 are faster and cheaper now; https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D7L9FKGP
only $55 here and it even comes with a sink.
this uses a Phison controller and TCL nand
for over R/W 800K IOPS
I see a 10% off code on that one making it just $50, butt.. as some one else noted the brand name. I never heard of them and reminds me of a temu brand.. IDK.. a sn750x seems like better furure proof drive IMHO. I have resisted buying d-ramless drive and dont see a reason to change..
1. i really don't care what you buy or not
2. at least 2 names are selling this same drive assembly
and both have gotten all positive reviews from hands on.
3. what matters is the controller and the nand used
so there's not much else for the "name" to add.
4. chinese are trying to gain name recognition in
NA/EU markets, which is why they are discounting,
they all have a na presence for warranty support.
5. dram mostly helps write speed, as these drives
are already so ridiculously fast you won't notice. and yes, dram does help on reads for sata ssd.
if my pc held the fate of humanity i'd buy what you suggest,
but since the highlight of my pc day is debating pc parts on sd
i'd rather take my chances and save $30.
full disclosure; my mobo is 5x4 capable, so in a few years i'll
replace this 4x4 boot with 5x4 and turn this dramless wonder
into a D: game only secondary drive.

Never heard of that company so idk if I trust that
I am just saying, that there are more "popular" manufacures with suposedly long term warrenty terms that tend to indicate the mafufactures confidance in life span. It is quauntifiable by leagal recourse. These off brand drives will have "iffy" recourse in the event of issues. I am sure a firmware update from xwz drice company would be a bit of luck, but drive replacement? ARG.. There are sill just a few good manufacturers left. After that they are all generic..
What I am saying is I am not sure if any ones better, but service is.

It's a "deal" compared to 3-4 years ago when i paid $100+ for premium brands with dram. Now i'm not sure. Expected lower maybe ~$50 for 1tb.
