Mine stopped working in less than 8 months. Don't recommend.

Awwh, Which one ? We have had the 2.0 for two years now without the tank and had no issues. We finally purchased a tank, and haven't noticed anything yet. All we have had to is clean it occasionally.

This is a killer deal, but I'm on my 4th ice maker (1st was a 1st gen firstbuild Opal, 2nd and 3rd were different Frigidaire ice makers and currently on an Opal 2.0) so despite this being a better price, I think the Costco warranty will pay for itself on this unit. My 1st Opal died after a year and a half and the 2 Frigidaire models lasted 6 months and 8 months.

Oh wow, this is my first Costco purchase so that's great to know, thank you. I went back and looked at my Costco purchase $419 - $45 gift card, and it came out being a better deal after tax. I'm going to stick with it now.

Have also heard that the filters are a problem and to just steer clear of them. Any experience with those?

I was glad I bought mine from Costco when it broke after 8 months. They took it back no issue. The compressor crapped out on it. It was a nightmare to clean too. Always telling me it was dirty despite me cleaning it daily.

Yes, I recommend against the filters also. It comes with a few of them, but I use RO water and the first few weeks I used a filter. After a few weeks, I had an add water light come on when there was plenty of water in there. Tried to remove the filter based on a comment on the Costco reviews and haven't had an issue since. I tried a second filter after having no filter for like a week and it did the same thing after a few days so I definitely recommend staying away from them and using distilled or RO water.
