The Wendy's around my house are refusing to keep their lobby open. Drive thru is slow as mud. I like Wendys, but I think it's time to move on to a place that can run their business. Not sure if that's just a problem near me, or if it's a wider issue. Other local fast food places don't seem to have this problem anymore.

I've found it's super regional.

When I lived in the southwest, the local Wendy's had like 8 people working and burned through lines.

At my local one now in the southeast, it's two zoned out kids who take forever.

I'd be happy with slow, but when you're on your lunch break and don't want to eat in your car/cubicle, it's frustrating to waste time trying to get in to the lobby, only to find it's closed.

Went to a McDonalds in San Diego a couple weeks ago with no lobby at all! Only drive-thru or sit outside. Was unaware of this as it's in a different part of town so did curbside pickup and when we got their, the app said curbside was closed. So I thought I needed to go inside but there was no inside! Confused, there was this walkup window on the other side of the building from the curbside spaces. Totally inconvenient. Most other places, I get irate at how they priortize drive-thru customers over walk-in or even curbside. Why? Lazy gets rewarded?

Offer is NOT limited to only SOCal, You will need to check with your local Wendys whether they are participating.

https://www.qsrmagazine.com/news/...-key-tags/

WHERE & WHEN:
Just in time for the holidays, Wendy's fans can purchase a Frosty Key Tag from December 9, 2024, through February 16, 2025, at participating U.S. Wendy's locations. A free Jr. Frosty with purchase can be redeemed using the physical keychain or digital version in the Wendy's app from December 9, 2024, through December 31, 2025.

Just a reminder some locations require to see the actual key tag which is hard to do if your car uses the physical key. My work around is putting the key tag on a bottle opener that I keep in my car that I got from Coca Cola at a Freeosk years ago. Luckily my car has a spot to put the bottle opener that is out of the way and easily accessible.

I prefer the physical key tag since sometimes you can use it when picking up a to go order/dine in after already using an offer.
