It's only 42 inches. How in the world is it worth $700, even if it is OLED??

Three reasons. One, OLED production lines are tooled to produce specific panel sizes at scale and manufacturing smaller panels is actually more expensive than mid-size. At one point, the juice wasn't even worth the squeeze so that's why it took a long time for smaller OLED TVs and monitors to start showing up regularly on the market, like years after 55-77" OLED TVs became ubiquitous. Two, 42" OLEDs are mostly used as monitors for high-end computer setups, thus they compete with the monitor market more than they do the tv market. Three, the 42" OLED is only offered in a higher quality/featured panel classification so it's more expensive just because of not having an "A" or B" model or whatever the Samsung/Sony equivalents are.
