We did the Series S to save some cash (and disc clutter) even though I'm generally a very pro-media-ownership person. Deals for GamePass are almost nonstop, so access to 400 games is nice, and around half can be played via Cloud Gaming (beta) which works pretty well...not perfect. Just be aware some games are 100GB+ and can eat up storage quicky. The 512GB model is more like 390 usable. We literally have 4 games on it. The 1TB is much better (S or X) and with X you get better hardware and resolution.

What the heck happened with the regular disc version? Absolutely no sales on that one anywhere. 😩
I waited til CM last year and it was $350 for the series X disc version. I'm sure deals will hit thru Monday. And iirc, there were $330 deals after CM.
Buy and play digital games or just get a Game Pass sub and you are golden. This is a heck of a deal for a 1TB console.
or get a disc version used for cheaper and buy a set of physical discs for cheap that you actually own and not have to pay monthly to be allowed to play them
you guys have to stop pretending GAMEPASS is free....

Have had game pass ultimate since inception and have never spent a cent on it due to ms rewards.
Yes and no. Now it's like 4-5 years after this was released. This is old tech. Can get a much better performing PC for the original price of this, $500.
I'm convinced Boomers are trying to kill gaming with fake deals.
I'm sure

the PS5 digital edition was $400 when it released in 2020
this is equivalent of a $20 coupon for a 4 years old console from XBOX side
garbage deal
What was the disk space for the PS5 digital edition and how much is this one? Given the disk space is about twice what the PS5 one had, Id' say it's certainly more than a " $20 coupon" but to each their own. 🤷 ♂️

I hope you're right. I really don't know what else to do cuz I don't want to pay full price. I already purchased 3 games 😂 idk if I can get a PS5 instead and exchange the games? 😩

Ramble Rant
I hope the "times have changed, $350 is unrealistic, things will only get more expensive from here" people don't parade that nonsense around. But they were definitely right about the 2023 ssd's.
Of course life changes and no doubt life changes and gets more expensive. In terms of slick"deals" in both value of your most important TIME and secondly money you can't really beat getting the xsx for $350 last year 2023 compared to getting it for the same price today even adjusted for inflation. Ok sure let's say it cost $300, it's a great deal for those who recently waited less than a year but not for those who saw $350 on November 2023 and thought "Nah I'll wait one year for it to be $200-300". If it even goes that low to $200-250 then ok, but $300 seems not worth waiting an entire year to save $50 and miss out on an entire year of gaming.
I guess I'm less about saving money and more about using the product an entire year sooner rather than saving a hundred bucks if even since they don't drop as fast as last gen with weaker specs. Maybe I'm the wrong audience and people here are more about saving money on older products and don't need the latest and greatest.
Idk how low current gen will drop to before it stops dropping such as the previous PS4 and Xbox One X/S down $200. I guess people buy based on a target price and target time of $50 price decreases per year on consoles. Idk about more than >$50 price decreases per years based on past last gen history.
Edit: Thinking about it, I decided to leave this in but revert back to the stance of the very stance I ranted about. I just wanted to get my thought process out there. Thinking about it I guess economics supply demand whether natural or artificial, companies are going to adjust accordingly in their best interest. I just think based on PS4/ Xbox One pricing, the past history shows $50 decrease in price each year while PS5 and XSX went up and don't go down as fast or steady as last gen. $50x4 years based on past history would predictably mean a $300 XSX this 2024 year. I'm rambling. I'm just trying to make sense if these are good deals relative for the time. $300 2024 just doesn't seem a good deal compared to $350 2023.
I have games saved on my older disc version XBox Series X that requires the physical disc to be in the drive to authenticate and play. If I transfer those games over to this disc-less version, can it play them? Or does this version only play games bought online and Game Pass stuff?

FYI I just tested it, and the the ID.me discount (First Responders, Military, Students, Teachers, Parents, Healthcare Workers, and Seniors) does not apply to this.
