Why tf would they give benefits to people who don't use their products? lol
I pay income taxes with Citibank Double Cash, fees pretty much equal the cashback. Then this makes it worth while!

Got $100 Apple, but it took forever with sending codes to verify identity over and over again.

You should get a PayPal Mastercard that gives 3% back and can be used to pay federal taxes

Very glad I held on the 15% deal. Just redeemed $301 (yes you can do custom amounts!) and the e-card came within 2 minutes.
When you have AppleOne Premier plan, you burn through that Apple balance pretty fast!
It's always funny to see so many people knowing Citi has been doing this "15% on Black Friday and 20% on Cyber Monday" for years but still decided to cash out on 15%. Plus Thankyou Points never expire.

So I signed up for the Rewards + card to augment my existing Citi Prestige. How can I tell if I will get the 10% bonus?

I have the Rewards + card linked to the same account. However, it does not indicate it is enrolled in ThankYou rewards yet (no purchases made yet). I may just call, but curious if anyone has suggestions for what I should be looking for.

You'll get a separate email with the gift card redemption link titled NAME, you received Points Back from your recent redemption confirming the amount of points you'll get back on your next statement

What state taxes this?
I don't think the poster is stating that they pay state taxes on gift cards, but rather that they pay their federal income taxes online using a double cash back credit card, so that even if you are charged the 1.9% convenience fee for using a credit card to pay the taxes, if you are getting 2% cash back on the purchase from your credit card, it equals out to the same amount as the fee, or better.

You can add up to $2000 worth of Apple GCs to your Apple Account Balance plus you can also use up to 8 GCs during checkout on Apple Store website -- not sure what the limit is in stores
Are you sure about that? I added $1700 worth of gift cards to my Apple account, and have 2 additional $500 ech gift cards that Apple won't let me add to the account balance. I called Apple to place the order ($2352) over the phone. Apple used the account balance first ($1700), then was also able to (supposedly) use my gift cards, but finally they got an authorization error. We tried various ways but couldn't place the order. Apple told me that likely reason of the error is that you cannot apply gift cards also if you are using the account balance.

Tip:
You can use custom amount to maximize the usage of your available point balance and you will still receive the 20% off.

Example - if your balance is 11,600 you can do custom amount and get $145 worth of Apple gift cards in one transaction.

That is maybe halfway true. This deal is like 1.4 cent value or whatever someone said. Sure maybe 6 cents is more common with premium economy airline tickets, but I book economy domestic flights with points at 4-6 cent value every year or so, which is still give or take 4x this value, which is quite significant imo I booked vacation to Paris next year and got like 8 cents or more per point. That was on premium economy, and subtraction of value from fees, tax, etc. I'm not really that into the travel points "elitism" as someone called it here, just google it whenever I'm in the market. Plenty of sites that help out with point value stuff
This is exactly what I am talking about. 8 cpp on a redemption to Paris in PE, would love to see a breakdown on it.

FlyingBlue is most likely my top airline transfer partner, I make use of transfer bonuses and promo awards, and claiming that one getting 6-8 cpp there is a huge stretch. Let's look at the coveted J awards to Europe at 50k pts. That's 100k roundtrip. Let's even say that points were acquired during a 25% transfer bonus, that's 80k TY pts to 100k FB.

In order for the Citi points to be worth 6 cpp, you'd have to value that ticket at ~$5500-6000, considering all the rewards one would have gotten from a J paid ticket. Would one really consider paying close to $6k for a Biz class to Paris? I suppose if the answer is yes, than they're getting that 6 cpp value. I am confident that 99% of people redeeming TY pts for GCs wouldn't be open to paying that much money for a trans-Atlantic biz class ticket, so suggesting that they're missing out on 6+ cpp is bogus.

I am still having trouble getting through the website. At the end, I called the ThankYou servicing center (1-800-842-6596) and placed the order that way. Not ideal, but faster than re-trying over and over again without success.
Also I am not sure if anyone knows this, Citi used to have banking relationship that can earn THANKYOU points as well. Those cannot be transferred to airline / hotel partners and have an expiration date. I think this sale is the best way to clean those points out.

You can literally add unlimited card to your cart and the "place order" button seems to be still active. I wonder how that works? The point summary shows a negative amount.
You found the infinite money glitch! 🤣 (though it'll fail when checking out)

You have to checkout with PayPal I believe and many of the 1040 portals won't let you. The only real 3% card out there right now is the Robinhood Gold card but it's cash instead of points (flexibility)
