I really like this annual tradition
You should get a PayPal Mastercard that gives 3% back and can be used to pay federal taxes
When you have AppleOne Premier plan, you burn through that Apple balance pretty fast!
I have the Rewards + card linked to the same account. However, it does not indicate it is enrolled in ThankYou rewards yet (no purchases made yet). I may just call, but curious if anyone has suggestions for what I should be looking for.

You can use custom amount to maximize the usage of your available point balance and you will still receive the 20% off.
Example - if your balance is 11,600 you can do custom amount and get $145 worth of Apple gift cards in one transaction.
FlyingBlue is most likely my top airline transfer partner, I make use of transfer bonuses and promo awards, and claiming that one getting 6-8 cpp there is a huge stretch. Let's look at the coveted J awards to Europe at 50k pts. That's 100k roundtrip. Let's even say that points were acquired during a 25% transfer bonus, that's 80k TY pts to 100k FB.
In order for the Citi points to be worth 6 cpp, you'd have to value that ticket at ~$5500-6000, considering all the rewards one would have gotten from a J paid ticket. Would one really consider paying close to $6k for a Biz class to Paris? I suppose if the answer is yes, than they're getting that 6 cpp value. I am confident that 99% of people redeeming TY pts for GCs wouldn't be open to paying that much money for a trans-Atlantic biz class ticket, so suggesting that they're missing out on 6+ cpp is bogus.
Also I am not sure if anyone knows this, Citi used to have banking relationship that can earn THANKYOU points as well. Those cannot be transferred to airline / hotel partners and have an expiration date. I think this sale is the best way to clean those points out.
