Got one of these for my son when he was born we used it for baby supplies. Now he is using it for Thomas the Train parts and pieces and train set stuff I think it's pretty cool. One day he will use it for a toolbox I'd imagine. But that was my plan. 10/10 recommend

Would rather have a top drawer than the top open like this. What if I need something out of the top storage while I'm using it as a bench / workspace?

I have the HF version and experience this exact issue at times but I feel it's an indictment of my overall workshop efficiency and not the cart itself. If you want to buy something with a dedicated work top, look elsewhere (and pay more).

Probably be more upset at the missing 5th drawer 🤷 ♂️
Local HFs don't have the one he wants in stock, so he may have to take what he gets...

This is a FANTASTIC deal. A few notes about the Kobalt 4-drawer that make it better than the HF version. The Kobalt has 4 swivel casters with 2 locking. Some versions of the HF only have 2 swivel casters. The Kobalt also comes with the fold down side table which the HF does not. That's another $20 via HF. I bought the gray one for $199 and thought that was a good deal. This is a great deal for this cart.

Rolling carts with locking tops like this are more suited to public shops and such where you use the interior of the top as your work surface/tool storage but need to lock it up at the end of the day.

My Final Price: $127.25 (includes taxes)

How:
- You need to have a My Lowe's Rewards Credit Card
- You can go online and buy a 20% off Lowe's coupon. I paid $6.95 for the coupon.
- Coupon arrived instantly, and I can confirm that it worked for my order when paying with My Lowe's Credit Card.

So, technically I paid $127.25 + $6.95 for the coupon: $134.20

Potential Cashback:
I might receive 6% cashback (used a cashback site). I'm not sure how it will all play out considering I used a coupon. At $134.20, I'm already happy.

Thanks OP!

Before you buy a tool box, you should buy a tape measure.
<chuckle> There's some wisdom right there.

On-topic. I have the HF one, and it's full. I wouldn't underrate the utility of having the 5th drawer. I keep large oddball things in it, like bearing separators and OF wrenches.

Contrary to others here, I do like the open top. I store SAE sockets in the top, and Metric in one of the drawers. I do use the top as a workbench because my garage space is tight, at least until my wife decides it's a perfect place to set some random box or thing she can't find a place for, which causes me endless grief.

Red paint, by far, has the longest durability. That's why the Golden Gate Bridge is red, instead of gold.

I'll ask the obvious question - how is the build quality compared to the US General currently on sale at HF? https://www.harborfreight.com/30-...70698.html [harborfreight.com]
In a lot of cases these carts are all licensed from the same manufacturer. Aside from overall dimensions, pay attention to max weight capacity and material thickness.

Since only the red, blue, and green are marked at the $149 price, what are the chances the gray, black, or white also go on sale for the same price?

I had the same problem. It's a tool cart. I use it to put my tools on while I work on cars, but I want to get tools out of it too. So I bought a homak instead. The top slides and allows access. I bought the 4 drawer version years ago and love it. The two drawer to is essentially the same though and about this price. Homak makers great stuff. Linky: https://www.summitracing.com/part...HkQAvD_BwEedit: actually it's 50 bucks more though, on sale these days. still worth it in my own opinion.
Check this out. I found the Homak one here, then found the store's clone version. Free shipping and 20% off brings it to 159.96
