For those of us awaiting the new "Stormlight Archives" entry in a few hours, the "Dawnshard" novella is only $2.23. The "Skyward" series is also dirt cheap.

Remember the two golden secrets of Audible. 1) Store unused credits as pre-order audiobook purchases before your subscription runs out. There is no need to use all your credits before your membership ends. When you see a book you want (in or outside of membership), just cancel the pre-order and your credit will be returned. If that pre-order is about to be released and you still haven't used the credit, cancel the pre-order, and use the credit on another pre-order. 2) Return audiobooks you have already listened to for credits or cash refund. You can usually return up to three audiobooks at a time, but this allowance is often only every couple of months. You can return books up to one year from purchase.
This was a horrible post. It cost me $126. I got a lot of books though. Most were $3-5.
A good time for the many of us who got the $20 Audible credit over the past week to use it!

No it worked just fine purchasing it from the book page. It didn't charge my card, it used my points. I'm just saying it looked like it was going to charge my card, and gave no indication or choice to use the balance. But it did.
A less confusing way for me was go to the Audible.com site on my laptop or desktop. Add a book I wanted Tune in the Beatles :All These Years . Do the transaction on the laptop/ desktop, and the book shows up in my library on the Audible app on my phone. It says apply $20 credit and get myself a well

I don't understand how this works. I don't have pre order or return option in my app

This sales is even more than 85% off (from non-member prices) for many books in series. Here are some great examples:
Lord of the Rings series: some $3.35 each: https://www.audible.com/series/Th...B009CFOEGK
Hunger Games series: about $3 each: https://www.audible.com/series/Hu...B005NAJGNE
The Bobiverse series: $2.59-$5.19 each: https://www.audible.com/series/Bo...B01M1RDL6W
The Empyrean series: $2.60-$4.99 each: https://www.audible.com/series/Em...B0CB11LYGJ
A Court of Thorns and Roses series: $2.23-$3.91 each: https://www.audible.com/series/A-...B01DH5QNS2

I will also add that Whisper Sync discounts stack with Kindle Unlimited. Check if the kindle version has a Whisper Sync discount. Whisper Sync is priced independent of audible, and requires you also purchase the kindle edition, so it's often a better deal when Audible doesn't have a sale going on. However, because it requires you to have purchased the ebook first the best deals typically have a final price in the $5-$10 range. I've seen Kindle Unlimited available audio books going for as low as $2.

Subjectively decide how much credits are worth to you. If you set a firm price in your head before you start shopping it will make deciding when to use a credit easier. Remember you can buy credit bundles when you run out, so I take a credit refill price of $12, and I won't use a credit for any book available for less than that price. For me, right now much of my wishlist is under $10, and I might end up with most of my books for 2025.

I do a weird thing some of you may dislike. I really enjoy sub 5-hours stories, and having short stories on hand is great when I feel overwhelmed by my backlog of 30+ hour books. From a purely deals based viewpoint I sometimes struggle to justify the price of shorter stories. To convince myself it's ok I multiply their duration by 1.5 and compare that number to the price. It's a way to rationalize spending half the price on a book that is 20% the length of other options.

I save all of my credits for B1G2 deals or books I absolutely must have. If you save books to a wishlists as you discover them you can later sort the list low-to-high to help search for deals in later sales.

IDK how I feel about returning books I already listened to. I know that's in their policy and everything, it just feels weird.

You can only do so many returns before they stop allowing you. It's not unlimited returns.

I am pretty sure that what is meant here is that you use the credit you have to "buy" a book listed for pre-order, such as this one: https://www.audible.com/pd/Sunris...B0D6P455PH

There seem to be some really good deals in this sale. I've gotten into the habit of saving things to my wishlist even if I'm just mildly interested, in order to look into at a later date (and to have a quick way to see if anything I'm at all interested in goes on a good sale). Definitely worth having a browse!

Unfortunately, I can't see the sale prices on books I already own, but here are some examples of some of the prices available. I can't vouch for how good these books are as I haven't read/listened to them yet, and some I was only mildly interested in, but it gives an idea of what you can find if you search:

$2.23
"Wanted: Toddler's Personal Assistant
How Nannying for the 1% Taught Me About the Myths of Equality, Motherhood, and Upward Mobility in America"

$.91
"So Late in the Day"
By: Claire Keegan

$2.36
The Woman They Could Not Silence
One Woman, Her Incredible Fight for Freedom, and the Men Who Tried to Make Her Disappear
By: Kate Moore

$6.60
(this is a pretty good price for a book that just came out in September)
"The Third Gilmore Girl - A Memoir"
By: Kelly Bishop

$6.52
"Naked"
By: David Sedaris
not trying to be insulting, but #1?

Graphic Audio is a movie for your mind. Lol I love the Graphic audio versions of any book I have tried. They are a full cast with background sounds, sound effects etc.

Thanks for this list. I got the first 3 in the Bobiverse. Apparently 4 and 5 in the Bobiverse have mixed reviews so I'll hold off for now. I'd also recommend the Licanius Trilogy. I thought that was a great series.

Tune In is a great book and never boring despite its length. I read it as an ebook years ago and decided to listen to the audio version and am just finishing it. The narration is great and brings out the humor that I didn't catch when I read the book.

I'm not so patiently waiting for Lewisohn to finish his other Beatles volumes (and for Robert Caro to complete his last LBJ volume).

A good time for the many of us who got the $20 Audible credit over the past week to use it!
It is gone for me. Just vanished. That $20 loss feels brutal and personal.

Edit: sorry, it is still there, just doesn't seem to apply properly. Not sure if it will apply before checkout, but I don't know how to use it.

Edit2: oh it works. I tried to refund it but cannot because after discount applied is $0.00.
