While the BP5450 and BP7450 (this) are more similar than they are different. The main difference is that the BP5450 has a D-Ring cuff which is a huge improvement in giving consistent and reliable results that will match your doctor's office every time. They sell this one as an "easy-off cuff" but it is just cheaper to manufacture; to upgrade this machine to the D-Ring cuff, it is $20.
Few minor pro-tips while I'm talking about this:
- Feet flat on the floor. Arm relaxed.
- Cuff cord should travel down the inside of your arm along the palm of your hand.
- Cuff is placed just above the elbow.
- Wait approx. 3-minutes since you last walked/exerted yourself.
- If you get Error E2 once or even twice, you moved, hold still. If however you get it repeatedly then I'd strongly advise you check your blood pressure via a secondary means ASAP. It could be a malfunctioning machine, or you could have such a high blood pressure you need ER tier medical attention now (see the manual for why). All I am saying, if you only see E2, throw it on your spouse/friend, and if it reads correctly then you have yourself a potential emergency.
