Great game at a great price. It's simple but fun. Luck and strategy mixed. Looks like the coupon works multiple times, and I'm seeing 10% back on Prime Visa.

Couldn't this just be played with a regular deck of cards? Seems similar to rummy but a bit simplified and comes with plastic holders, except you need a special deck.

I used to play this exact game with my grandma, as a child. The rack makes this game nice for folks who may have trouble holding cards fanned out, like children and older folks.

Play this all the time. Usually get it at thrift stores. The older version had a tray to hold the cards and waste pile that made it easier to get cards.

With 2 players you use the cards numbered up from 1 to 40, with 3 players you use the cards numbered from 1 to 50, and with 4 players you use the cards numbered 1 to 60, took me years to realize that.

"Couldn't this just be played with a regular deck of cards?"

"except you need a special deck."

You answered your own question. The cards are numbered 1-60. There are no suits. If you played with a normal deck you'd have to decide (and everyone would have to remember) what the suit order was. This is much easier for kids and if you want to have a quick game to pick up and play with newbies (e.g. an after-dinner game or a game night).

Is the coupon targeted or something? I don't see it on the product page.

The only game I can think of that is similar to Rack-o is "Trash". But the big difference is you don't see what you're starting with.
