These are awesome and the price is good. One note - they rust like hell, so don't leave them outdoors or on a boat and rinse with freshwater if you're fishing the salt.

Nail clippers work, but the ease of use of these is much better. When you are standing in a river trying to hold your pole and tie a knot dealing with the wind and cold... I would rather have this. And the retractable leash is worth a few bucks on its own so not much savings.

They work great when you're fishing freshwater with 8 lb mono - not so great when you're throwing 30lb braid. In fact, that 30 lb braid will laugh at the sight of your nail clippers.

Getting braid off a hook when retying with this is easier than big scissors or a knife.

I left this in my saltwater bag and it fell apart in a year. I do not recommend it for saltwater conditions.

This works much better on braid. Also far more convenient. Give it a shot sometime and you'll see, it's a good tool to have.

I've had mine for awhile and love it. The clip and tether are great. Must have, especially if you use braid.

Real qustion, why not just use scissors or a knife? @Giantcrazy says they rust like hell so why not just use a tool less likely to rust? Not a fisherman so maybe I don't understand why you need some special tool to cut your line
