I bought this years ago, because it was $4. It's not good. A better Need for Speed is Unbound. It often goes on sale for about $10. In fact, the Palace Edition is on sale for $11.99 right now (it's only on current gen consoles, though). It's also not a great game (there hasn't been an actual good NFS in many years), but it's a lot better than this. It also runs at 60fps, unlike this.

I just bought it couple days ago, I played on pc and handheld, didn't like it much. I agreed that NFS unbound is a better game.

I bought another one of those NFS games and it was so boring. I don't even remember the name. This one looks even worse.

Need For Speed games were fun back in the day. There are too many options nowadays that are better both in the same genre or others.

I thought Payback was more fun. Liked having a story campaign and still the freedom to explore and take random races. Also the cops in this game are way too sticky. And they seem to immediately chase you after every race and take forever to lose. Looks nice though and good customization but requires grinding for money.

Opinions are subjective, but Heat kept my attention much more than Unbound. Heat had a more fun day/night mechanic and Unbound feels really grindy (doing multiple of the same races over and over to progress). The downside of Heat on console was it never got a 60fps patch and it feels like it ends abruptly. But I still had more fun playing it and customizing cars in it than Unbound. Again, completely subjective.

Is it a great game? No. Is it worth $4 absolutely. I've quite enjoyed putzing around in this game and have logged several hours of enjoyment. Do recommend for those who aren't car game fanatics 100%

How about a PS5 Pro remaster of Most Wanted?!

At least they gave some attention to Hot Pursuit, great game.

I'm just replying so that folks can see. I'm no need for speed expert... the last one I played and beat was the classic Most Wanted on GameCube. This game, to me, was fun for the few hours that I played it. But I'll check out unbound based on what you and a few others have said. Regardless, for the price, I would say that this is a steal.

I actually played this on PC and really liked it. A somewhat short and simple game but the cars and customizations are fun enough for me to want to have it on PS so I can make some cool wallpapers. Problem is the NFS Studio to download community's customized cars is no longer available so if your goal is similar to mine, don't buy it haha.
