Why pay when you can access WSJ free using your library card?

Don't assume every library provides WSJ access just because yours does. I have had 2 cards from two different library systems in two different states, and neither had WSJ subscription.

Make sure to either set up a reminder or use a virtual credit card number with very low spending limit (or better, both). They won't remind you when the promotion ends. I just found out the hard way when I saw a $38.99 charge on my card. Customer service refused to do anything about it.

And the only ways to know exactly when the promotion ends is to either go back to the email or go to a very specific place in account settings on the web. I used their app regularly but never saw any subscriptions information (or get notified about rate change in app).

> You will be notified via email of any price increases.

Not sure what the "price increase" here refers to, but don't count on WSJ to be nice enough to notify you anything.

I create calendar reminders for every single "deal" subscription because of this. Include my wife as well just in case I'm dense and miss it

I have an existing, inactive account and trying to renew. As others have said, won't work with existing accounts, but I've tried a different email address but still can't activate this offer. Are they flagging the same billing address and/or credit card?
My WSJ account has been inactive for 1 year, and I was able to use this deal. Not sure if others have success with inactive accounts 🤔?

My same cc and billing address worked fine. I did need to change browsers to get the old (dormant) account to work for the new rate.

Darn, I just signed up for the $1.75/week plan today that includes IBD (even though I don't need it). Anyone know if customer service will downgrade to this plan? I'll check nonetheless, else cancel and re-signup for this one. Thanks OP!

Signed up with an account that ended only a few weeks ago. So you can renew even if you recently canceled.

You're joking, right? Most of us civilized people use apps on the go and don't have any time or interest going through a library portal via primitive browsing methods.
