Why pay when you can access WSJ free using your library card?

Don't assume every library provides WSJ access just because yours does. I have had 2 cards from two different library systems in two different states, and neither had WSJ subscription.

Make sure to either set up a reminder or use a virtual credit card number with very low spending limit (or better, both). They won't remind you when the promotion ends. I just found out the hard way when I saw a $38.99 charge on my card. Customer service refused to do anything about it.

And the only ways to know exactly when the promotion ends is to either go back to the email or go to a very specific place in account settings on the web. I used their app regularly but never saw any subscriptions information (or get notified about rate change in app).

> You will be notified via email of any price increases.

Not sure what the "price increase" here refers to, but don't count on WSJ to be nice enough to notify you anything.

Excellent price. Much better than the $1.75/week that they were previously running.
No, this deal stinks. The only good deal was this one, which ended for me a couple of weeks ago: https://slickdeals.net/f/17087998-wall-street-journal-digital-subscription-0-50-week-26-year

I won't pay 200% via this "deal."

$1.75/week also includes Investors Business Daily (IBD).
While this is a good deal, IBD digital for an extra $39/yr is even better.

I too have the $2 a month for WSJ only deal currently, for about another month. Anyone know how long this current offer of $4 a month lasts for? It's the best I could find and I guess locking it in for the next year even with duplication of subs for a month isn't the end of the world, but I wonder if there's any sense in waiting for another deal like the $2 a month one. I don't need the other bundled stuff, just WSJ digital.

You get access to news and stock recommendations. If you follow some recommendations and if it helps you make money, it's worth it.

I have a LC to 3 mayor cities and 2 county libraries and none have free access to wsj. Only NYT.

Anyone know when the offer expires? My subscription ends in two weeks. Thank you.
I get email reminders that tell me how much they will charge on my credit card monthly a few weeks in advance. Customer service helped set that up for me? YMMV.

Best all around paper in the states. Less media bias more factual reporting. My issue with the WSJ vs Bloomberg is that WSJ publishes less volume of the in-depth heavy analysis pieces on the market/economy/business stories than its contemporary, BBG, which I find incredibly helpful. That said BBG all access is meaningfully more expensive these days making it harder to justify and has also been editorializing much more then I care for in recent years.

How? I use it for Libby. Is WSJ there too?

It is still working for me, but I had to cancel and sign out of my exiting account and then sign up using a new email address. Annoyingly WSJ doesn't let you use an email with a plus sign, so the usual [email protected] trick doesn't work. Luckily they do allow periods, so [email protected] is accepted as a "new" account.

United MileagePlus Shopping is also offering 950 miles for signing up. I signed up on Friday and the miles were deposited yesterday.

Wsj - interesting articles that aren't covered elsewhere. Insightful with more details than other sources. Written at a higher reading level than most junk rags. Entertaining, for a business read.

I signed up for this deal years ago, and they still just charge $1 a week even though it was supposedly going to go up after one year.
I found a neat ~$45 charge after getting a similar deal last year. YMMV
