Hey, DVD rips are still pretty legit IMO, with decent upscaling. Especially animated stuff.

I like having the rips for camping without cell service. Just a laptop and a portable media drive, and I can go weeks with discless, Internetless entertainment if I need to. Blu-ray just takes too long and takes up too much drive space for my taste.

I bought this in 2019 at Best buy for a $14.99 great sale. Right now it is being sold at the $39.99 retail price at Best Buy. I have seen it for $19.99 sale at times but never at this low price.

This is a great deal! It works great. It feels very light and has a cheap feel but it doesn't effect the performance and it always works great. Always does the job for me.

FWIW. This external player has a 4.6 out of 5 star rating with like 14k reviews on Best Buy.

* I just bought my 2nd LG external disc player just now. Nothing wrong with my first one but now I can just keep one with my laptop and keep one with my desktop. Just in case one breaks down in the future, I have a backup external drive too.

Link to product on Amazon in case anyone like me who wants to read up more details. Doesn't seem to support windows 11 explicitly but otherwise pretty good:

perhaps those who like to watch DVD movies with family and friends on a computer monitor or whatever. bazzillions of DVD shows out there and they last a LONG time, no pay for streaming.

I seriously doubt that a USB storage device would NOT be supported in Win 11.

The product page/details were probably added long before Win 11 was around and never updated.

Dang. Sold out already. I got this from Target for $18 and was hoping to save a bit more. Oh well.
