This is a good deal for the arc. And if you are adventurous enough, you can use this as a bargaining chip to buy a used arc from a well reviewed seller on FB marketplace. There are a lot of arcs popping up for sale everyday.

I have some refurb Beams and they have been great. I wouldn't hesitate to buy refurbished direct from Sonos.

How is the Arc without a sub? I'm debating on it and a little disappointed it doesn't have Bluetooth support.

everything I've read is that the OG Arc (this one) sucks without a sub. The new Arc addresses this

Yes, exactly. The naming is a bit (perhaps intentionally) confusing but there are only 2 models currently, Arc and Arc Ultra. People complained about the Arc not having enough bass on its own but good paired with a sub, the ultra addresses this by adding a built in micro sub that drives sound a different way, which is actually pretty cutting edge technology and so far well received

I found that to be true when I tested an Arc vs a Beam 2, in a large room. The Arc should've been much better in that scenario. But it was just marginally better and, to my very inexpert ears, a lot harsher sound. That's not to say the Beam is really great in the room. But it was an easy choice over the Arc for the price difference.

Beam plus the sub mini makes the setup a little better. But this open of a room probably needs an Arc plus sub mini, or a receiver and some bookshelf speakers...which I don't want cluttering the media console.
