Great for those of us with multiple cats! Picked up one of each save for the crystals.

Which cat litter does everyone use? Recently adopted a 4 month old and just bought the crystal version at petmart but I am looking for another kind that is non tracking and no dust.

Welcome to the world of cats.
No matter what everyone says, there isn't a non-tracking and no-dust conventional litter, unless you consider going with some random things like silica based ones or "crystal" or some other stuff like wood pellets etc.. Having said that, Outstretch Advanced is probably one of the better ones. Clay based ones are less dust but more track, as opposed to outstretch ones are less track but dusty. So much dust that I can taste the sandy litter dust when I start scooping around our big litter box for our 18lb tabby.
I gave up and use whichever is on sale and try not to go over $0.40/lbs for fancy ones and $0.25/lb for basic ones like recent Costco or BJs deals $10 for 44lbs (i think it was 44lbs)

im transitioning from clay clumping to pine pellets due to dust and for cost saving. A 40lb bag of pine pellet at tractor supply is $6. You can use a sifting litter box or just sift it manually. i'm still in the process of transitioning. Some info in this thread https://slickdeals.net/f/17940312-purina-tidy-cats-breeze-xl-all-in-one-multi-cat-litter-box-system-starter-kit-38-49-free-shipping?p=174387840#post174387840

its really is up to you which litter work best for you and your cat. I have my litter box in my room so i want to avoid any dust & scented litter. I have an air purifier set to auto right besides the box.

Yeth well, that is disgusting lol.

Thanks for the info (a TU for your post), but have u tried mixing some clumping litter with the pine pellets mentioned? Seems like they would fight to see which would absorb the pee, and maybe the clay would bind at least some of the sawdust?

===

This IS a better deal than the recent 160 lb Chewy offer that got so much attention.

I am considering going back to clay but I remember clay is not that healthy for kittens, not sure if it's also not good for young cats. Especially male cats.
My cat also loves to pee right by the side wall, these outstretch ones don't make a rock hard crumple like clay ones do, that's my only problem. I rally wonder if regular sand would be better, or of that's not healthy for cats..

Don't do it! We are not sand-challenged here so I thought it would make a great litter, and free! Turned out, worked great on the solids but the liquids went to the bottom and stunk.

Now that I think about it, never tried mixing some clumping litter with it as an extender and liquid absorbent. Maybe that would work.

Oh that makes sense, nothing to absorb (maybe other than some minerals) and it just filters the urine down to the bottom, I guess we can't compare with nature where it just soaks into earth at the bottom. I wish I could train my cat to go #1 in one and #2 in another, so we can keep #1 litter box close to us and #2 litter box near the bathroom. Smilie

I use these
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Scoop-...om=/search

Somehow these 4 packs seem to work better to block smells than other ones of the same brand... At least for my house.. Don't know why

I use automatic litter boxes at my house

Hmm, there's always that City Kitty thing, trains them to go in the toilet. Some even learn to flush when they're done lol.

Problem is when the human sits down, feels grit and grosses out.

But could use the same principle to train kitty to go over something like a compost vessel, maybe even with small fan to keep it aerobic (non-stinky). (That's after the initial malodorous wave of course.) No more litter to mess with and flush by throwing in a cup of compost. Rotate out when near full and use as a soil conditioner when done.
