No I got two during last deal and it has USB-C for thr newer model with a color LCD display. I also owned ENERGIZER LED Camping Lantern X1000 older model and I think this one does use the micro-USB connector.
Energizer sells it as X1200 in English, but it's also marketed as BGAAL9 in other languages. Google "BGAAL9" and you will find Japanese sites for this lantern, and you can view/translate those sites for more info/specs than the bare bones info that Energizer English sites provide.
Dead? Also the Duracell one from Costco looks better and is brighter.
It might be brighter, and it probably is bigger. It also also more than double the cost of this one. You can certainly find bigger (which is not an asset for most uses) and brighter, and you can pay more, a lot more if you want. This one looks like it should have decent battery life and is plenty bright for me, if the specs aren't a total lie. I'll let you know how it is in like 6 weeks when mine finally arrives.π

$30 is the online price, it's $19.99 in store right now and sometimes drops down to $15.

It charges via USB-C. That's how I charged the one I bought anyway (same charger I use for my phone).
