I thought the Go version of the Swift was supposed to be thin and light? Wouldn't adding a graphics chip run counter to that? They have others in the Swift line with dedicated gpu.

Can the RAM be upgraded? or is the 16GB soldered?

Since it says "LPDDR5X," you can safely assume the 16GB is soldered. Dunno if there is an extra slot though. Chances are slim

I think you're correct, but the question remains as to why they put high-end components in this machine but then cheaped out on graphics. Like this configuration doesn't serve anyone well. not complaining, just mystified
I don't want the battery hit from a discrete gfx card. It's unnecessary since the vast majority won't buy it to game and drives up costs. Thankfully they stuck to integrated gfx.

you're not wrong, and I personally bought it for office use. but it's marketed as a gaming machine, and it's really not

Sorry but I think you are wrong on this. Where do you see that it's marketed as a gaming machine? It's a thin and light machine, so definitely not marketed towards gaming. Throughout the whole product description, it does not once even mention gaming.

As another has said, adding discrete graphics would increase weight and decrease battery life, going against the idea of a thin and light, hence the word "Go".

I think I read somewhere this does have heat issues, but need to double check on that.

Very good price for the specs! I got the 16" Dell 2-n-1 which has same CPU RAM SSD and screen resolution. I gave the Ultra 7 155H CPU + iGPU a chance at playing some games since Intel is marketing the iGPU as good for some games. It actually is comparable to a discrete video card NVIDIA 1050 Ti max-q mobile, based on performance test results and what I felt playing some games. I was able to play some games:

MineCraft with default 40 chunks. This is a game almost any PC can play, some with more chunks (see further) than others. Having 40 chunks is very good game play. I had a world where I raised cows and chickens and sheep and turning to watch them on an older gaming desktop (1060 3GB) that slowed down the game play due to having to render all those moving animals, not this machine.

Deliver us Mars (3D exploration and puzzle solving that involves some keyboard+mouse skills) with 1280*960 windowed resolution and low setting. quite playable but not as detailed compared with playing on an RX 6650 XT on a desktop with epic settings and 1440p. This is a 2023 game that requires discrete video cards. Nice model for hair strands but I didn't attempt it on the laptop. Read the requirements at the bottom:

https://store.epicgames.com/en-US...er-us-mars

Eve online (3D space game in which you rotate pan zoom your view a lot) with 1200p and high/custom settings. Decent even though it takes a moment to load graphics when you jump into a star gate which doesn't affect your game play. You can see the requirement for this game is about 1050 ti max-q mobile level as well:

Some of these games are free to play so there is NO reason not trying some of these games and see for yourself how the processor handles games. Admittedly my Dell is bigger in size so more vents and larger fans are assumed. It also comes with a 100W USB-C charger, which is nice.

I didn't try any 2D games assuming they don't require much and also tried strategy game homeworld desert, which plays fine.

Now that I contributed to the thread with some findings, how about those who actually bought this unit tell us something we don't know, instead of feuding who's right who's wrong without sharing first-hand experience? Let's show some tendency to help others decide, cool?
