I changed payment to a non-Prime Visa and selected quantity to three. It offered me $3 no rush shipping credit.

The 7% back when using the Prime Visa is very deceptive - it's a total of 7%, so it only gives you 2% for slower shipping (since you get 5% back regular purchases). In this case, you're getting an extra $.05/sandpaper package for the slower shipping

I'm not seeing that price from any sellers. I do see an ad stating to save up to 54% with a business account though, so maybe that?

But also it was cheaper than this price, normal price, from 2020 to 2024. Only recently has it gone up in price, so put that into perspective as to how good a deal this is

What does one use this for? I usually buy the one that comes in a block form but this is cheaper

You cut the full sheet in half with a straight edge and utility knife, or fold it and tear it, and then wrap that around the flexible block. Much cheaper than buying new blocks once the grit is removed from them.

You can cut it up and attach it to a piece of wood, use it by hand, cut it down to use in a sheet sander or with a reusable rubber sanding block. With the sponge block things you're paying for convenience.

Sponge block is basically a different use case than sandpaper on a firm/solid block. The former is good for drywall, baseboard, etc, where it's not a smooth or flat surface.

True, but the poster phrased it as if they just buy blocks because it's easy not because they have a use case for them.

sponge block is good for wet sanding too, if you dint need that then cheaper to cut and use it with old sanding block or like others said use wood.
