Recent reviews are pretty terrible. Too bad.

If you don't mind the color, orange painter tape is much better than this. It's way cheaper, and leave no residue. When we used it during party in the backyard, the color shows your visitors to not step on it.

As someone who uses Gaffer tape regularly, you'll pay more for Gaffer Power brand, but you won't be disappointed. The best there is.

Where do you use it? I've read some people use it to protect their camera equipment. Is it durable enough to protect the bottom of a plastic luggage from scrapes?

I use it to protect top of the tennis racquet grommets and therefore strings. Way more cost effective than racquet head tape and does the same job

It should protect the bottoms of the luggage but you will have to replace it occasionally, it's meant to take the damage, and tear a bit but once it does you will need to reapply it.

Taping down cable runs generally.

Thanks for this. Bad gaff tape is more trouble than it's worth.

Thanks for the heads up. Recent reviews said this tape is bad on leaving residue, which is opposite what it's supposed to do, defeats the whole purpose of gaffers tape.

Could be...LOL. Gaffers' tape is intended for taping down power cords and mic lines at concerts and filming locations, and is supposed to be removable after the event easily without leaving residue. Apparently this particular Amazon tape does not work well for that, according to recent reviews.
