Woot has a good deal on a small homeowner stump grinder. The reviews aren't great because the belt needs to be adjusted before using.

I rented a similar size from Home Depot. I wouldn't wish one of these on my worst neighbor.

You can't compare a worn out and poorly maintained rental to a new unit.

I wasn't.

They lack the power and the weight to grind stumps over say 4" in diameter. Add to that that it is not powered, so you have to push it around. While it lacks the weight to grind stumps effectively, it is still almost 150 pounds and it doesn't roll around that easily.

It looks like a PITA to use. Too small and no hydraulic back and fourth and up and down to control cut. I bet it is a real workout on the arms to use.

You're comparing a $600 homeowner unit to a $3000 commercial stump grinder. I'm going to use this at my leisure and when I'm finished I'll sell it on marketplace and get most if not all of my money back. Check out the prices of used stump grinders.

I bought a woot wood splitter last year. Split 5 trees and then sold it on facebook marketplace for $75 more than I paid for it. This is totally doable.

No. I'm not. I'm comparing the thing you posted with an almost identical unit I've used.

Yeah, it's better than a butter knife at grinding stumps, but not that much better. I can confirm it is a workout. It will do small stuff provided you can get it rolled there though. It is not a fun thing to use.

Probs better to pay someone 2grind the stumps or rent one & return. Otherwise, your wife gonna be pissed this thing sits in garage & she can't park her car. Cause that's what gonna happen when you don't have no more stumps to grind. Stump grinders are not quick sellers like small electronics.
