Considering rumors have incoming 8800 XT between 7900 xt & xtx, at this point I would only get a regular XTX (Zotac, XFX, PNY, etc) for ~$700 and I would only pay $820 if it was a Sapphire Nitro+

Agreed, I hope the ~$700 regular XTXs come back around soon during the return window for this, as this is the hedge my bets strategy.
Also, deal is expired right now.
Edit 2: deal is back at $5 cheaper.
Edit 3: and it's gone.
