Movado, as a watch brand, is fairly contentious by way of opinions for watch collectors. Some love them and some hate them. There are design and manufacturing elements that put many people off, depending on the line of watch you are looking into. I do believe the Movado brand is generally overpriced but you also rarely see a Movado at this price point so they are doing something right. That being said, they are still a higher end watch brand and this is a decent deal if you are looking for something from a good brand in this style.

Personally, this particular style isn't my taste. I'm just shocked that some folks have come in and called this watch, "junk" while comparing it to cheap Walmart pieces or made comments in jest regarding the listed MSRP. Yes, the MSRP is probably inflated but if someone knows what typical pricing is for Movado watches (I know, broad stroke) or the brand in general, I didn't feel like they would be making some of these comments.

Weird. I would think these watches have sapphire glass which is the hardest glass face you can get on a watch. Sapphire is nearly impervious to scratching. Guess it's possible they all don't, but that wouldn't seem to jive with a higher-end watch.

Nice deal. 39mm case for those wondering (imo a that's a good thing). Back in the day there used to be deals on Movados much more frequently, but haven't seen one in quite a while. Mine is still kicking as my primary daily driver and the sapphire glass has done its job.

A lot of negative comments. Movado definitely is a polarizing brand, as far as I know they haven't had much of an impact in the industry outside of their museum collection. I have this watch, the battery lasted 5 years and have yet to replace it, sapphire glass did not scratch contrary to other posts. Biggest downside is there really isn't a brand to invest in outside of the Museum line, and they're cheap quartz movements. On the other hand, it's an iconic look and not a bad price for a nice casual dress watch for a young man or student.
