While I'd prefer to see 1TB SSD, a USB-c 4.o port, and a brighter screen in a gaming laptop, at this price I'd be willing to overlook those issues. The RAM and SSD both have empty slots, so you can upgrade when the storage and or memory become an issue for you.
The one thing you can't upgrade is the battery life, so make sure that you can live with about 5 hours of non-gaming battery life. Having USB-C charging helps with that as you don't always have to take the power brick with you for charging on the go.

Bigger and heavier is how to have less fan noise, but this is a relatively slim gaming laptop at least to my standards and the price is definintely right. Some say it's heavy, if so it's only by the most modern of standards. Regarding size I can't see calling it big/thick at all. anyway If you want the least noise there are other options.
