For some reason Chase charges more tax than Costco.
Costco is re-stocked on the ethernet model for $135. It came out to only ~$4 more at Costco with a better return policy.
Bad deal folks. Chase point redemption is best spent at 1.5 cents per point at minimum. We used to get better rewards and flights for more then $0.015 long ago
Not everyone has a premium Chase card that gets them 1.5 cents per point. For someone who only has a Freedom or Ink Cash, they only get 1 cent per point.
Also, you don't have to pay with points, you can get this by paying with your credit card.

I wouldn't upgrade. I have the latest 4K 128GB. Device is fast but the remote is terrible. I'm 8 feet from the device with direct line of sight and if the remote isn't pointed directly at it it sometimes doesn't register. Our Fire Stick behind the TV didn't have this problem.
You need to re-pair the remote to the box. There is also a fix for the issue if a simple re-pairing doesn't fix it. I had to do this on one box out of 5. Works flawlessly again.

I've done this three times before and no change. Anything slightly obstructing the transmitter at the top will interrupt inputs. Not the case with Fire Stick, Roku, TV remotes here -- I can use those as they rest in my lap, but not the Siri remote.
Does the card type matter? I only have lowly freedom/doublecash
Freedom will earn points but only Sapphire Preferred/Sapphire Reserve/Ink Business Preferred (these all have an annual fee) can transfer points to travel partners. Points can be moved freely between cards, so for example earn 5% UR on quarterly Freedom categories then move the points to a Sapphire card and transfer to a hotel or airline program.
Thanks! I just missed the Costco deal as I was traveling for work. I had ordered one for my bedroom from Apple during this time as it was also a reasonable deal.
After receiving it, I wanted to see if the new Apple TV box would resolve an ongoing issue I was having in my living room home theater setup. The tv would occasionally go blank and the difficulty was to determine whether it was the Apple TV 4K 128gb or my denon receiver or my lg oled tv. Replacing the Apple TV box did the trick. Bought it 11/24/23 without AppleCare :-(.
This deal gave me a decent reason to use points. Thanks!
I have this same exact issue. Thank you for confirming that replacing the Apple TV did the trick.

I'm surprised by this. I don't like the wheel and physical buttons on the new one based on trying it at a store. I like the touch pad on the old one.
I'm also surprised because my remote works over WiFi or Bluetooth. Yours should too? Might be a network setting. Try a hard reset of the Apple TV if repairing doesn't work.
I hope an apple TV will solve my issue. I use plex for viewing my friends plex library 4k movies and shows. My plex app on my sony x800h tv seems to constantly need to buffer. Yet when I play movies in my macbook or iPad it's totally smooth. I'm not sure if it's due to lack of computer power in my tv or what.
It looks like it works with the Amazon Prime visa through Chase, but when I click on the link and sign in it always errors out and brings me back to a normal rewards page. Then I can't find it anywhere on that page. Tried last two days. Does it actually work with the Amazon prime card?

Apple TV will fix that.
I have the older 4K that was free with directTV long ago, it's served four different TVs since then. The touch pad remote stopped recognizing the button click, but I was able to take it apart and clean it and has been working fine since.
Even the older one had no issues decoding everything from my Plex server, including 10bit HEVC x265. All fireTV, Roku, and TV native apps during the same generation has major issues, and my server wasn't fast enough to re-encode on the fly. Only thing that competed was the Nvidia Shield, which was 2x the price back then.
We just bought a new Frame TV for the bedroom and even the latest Samsung hardware is extremely slow compared to the old Apple TV. The amount of bloat, sluggishness, and annoying "features" I can't turn off has made us immediately order another Apple TV.

As an update it DID fix the plex problem, and I'm embarrassed to have been using the built in apps on my tv, now seeing how snappy this apple TV is. Integrates very nicely with my phone and macbook.

You are wrong. The Costco price is $144.
You're late it was 135

Update- nope. I have new HDMI cables of high quality on order. If it's not this… maybe the port on my TV? But more likely my receiver (hopefully not!)
