Its the magnet, and probably the glue, the tip of the plug tends to stick to it immediately if you don't aim straight through, so the cermaic doesn't hit first. The depth is missing in the picture.

usually I have to use an extension with mine.

funny seeing this because I just used it today.

the rubber ones suck as they often detach inside the tube and then you have to fish it out.

I have this exact item. I bought it 7 years ago and have used it many times since. It is very well made and more substantial than I expected. This is a quality tool for about $4 less than I paid for mine, and I consider my purchase of it to have been a very good choice.

This is basically an extension and socket. I used hf extension and to loosen and tighten spark plugs. To take out, I used a grab tool that you push and it closes it's claws

My socket is as old as me, 45 years. I'm thinking about getting this because my black O ring is sticking. The plug gets stuck in the socket.

that's a tough one - once the rubber starts sticking (in my experience) it's ready to fall out of the socket and remain on a plug after dropping it in. even more annoying to recover the plug that has a rubber donut on it when it falls off

this magnetic one will probably last you the next 45 years for $11 🤣

This is better than using a wobble extension because the socket won't pull out when you remove it after tightening.

I got a 2016 rav4 would this be fine?

Also some mixed reviews saying the sparkplug isn't seated far enough down in the socket possible rounding off the plug. Anyone have this experience.

It should be, but you can lookup your vehicle spark plugs on rockauto.com under ignition to verify the hex size. I don't know what they would be doing to their spark plugs to cause rounding. Typically they only go on and off once when you are replacing them.
