I received the z6ii , Nikon delivered next day.
Shutter count is 2. So I got new
No original box , came in white box and no storage card or paper manual.
900 z50-2, 1200 zf, 2200 zf , 2600 z8
BUT I just decided to part with my Sony RX1 and I could live with f/4 so I could come out well ahead on the overall buy/sell cycle.
I feel like at a point it makes sense to update just because. I don't think I'd want one of the higher MP bodies.
But maybe I wait a couple years on the Z6III. Slickdeals is a daily crisis this time of year.
Plus regardless of the cost of the new body the economy of an "upgrade" often depends on how much glass you already have.

I was set up with a 24-120 f/4 on the 610 for all around. RX1 for purposeful people and other shots because it's the most beautiful thing ever made, and a Rokinon 14mm for wide and night.
I swapped out for the 24-70 just before a 3 month trip in Asia this year because it was a good deal. I looked at upgrading to mirrorless thinking the trip was good justification, but I came away with awesome shots with one setup.
I'd probably be best off looking for something longer with the RX1 cash and just stay in my casual mirror world.
If I continue to use my new camera as I currently do, can I expect the Nikon Z5 with the 24-200 to do significantly better in these types of night photography and indoor environments? Or is this more of a user error? I read that the Sony is still very capable but it certainly didn't feel like it at times during my trip. I hated how when I was shooting at 16, everything looked a bit long and distorted too.
I also want a compact mirrorless similar in size to my Sony as well. Maybe that's the trade-off I have to deal with?

is convenient, but is a mediocre lens in terms of image quality, and isn't great for low light.

in addition to the sensor, I believe it has image stabilization so you can shoot lower shutter speeds.
At the very least you should learn the different shooting modes. If you're shooting things in motion, set to shutter priority and set the shutter to make sure it can freeze the motion.
Set it to auto iso, but also test how high ISO is acceptable to you. You can usually set the max in the menus.
You can't rely on AUTO especially because in low light situations, it will try to set your aperture and shutter to as low as it can to get the right exposure. In this case it probably set your shutter too low for you to hand hold the camera or boosted the ISO too high and introduced tons of noise.
The Pixel 7 is 9 years newer and uses computational photography to get you a nice clean image.
