  • This deal works out to $15 per month. A nice offer since Mint Mobile typically only offers this sort of promotional pricing on shorter duration plans.
  • Please see the original post for additional details & give the WIKI and additional forum comments a read for helpful discussion.

I had Mint for one year until about 6 months ago. Two things made me switch to US Mobile: data prioritization and extra fees significantly increasing the price at renewal.

Data prioritization: I live in a semi-rural area, so the vast majority of the time this wasn't an issue. However, occasionally on weekends when people were home my phone data would slow to a crawl. Where it became untenable was during power outages (including lengthy ones during natural disasters). My phone data was literally useless. I couldn't even check the weather apps. This was my #1 reason for switching to an MVNO that included priority data.

Fees: US Mobile charges you the stated price, inclusive of taxes and fees. Mint's price was much higher than expected due to taxes and what seemed like extraneous fees.

So far I have much preferred US Mobile. Even though I have to use the Verizon network (slower data speeds) in order to get priority data, I haven't had any issues and it's still plenty fast. During the last major power outage I had zero issues with data. I plan to keep them when it comes time to renew.
Not really! There is a $25 "recovery fee" and other fees which might bring the mint deal within a few dollars of the visible one
When you go to this page, it states at the bottom T&C this is only for new customers. If you login to your account and try to find the discounted plan it is non-existent. If you know a workaround please let us know. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing. I'm at the Mint checkout page but haven't seen any options for port in a number (from Tello). Wondering if that only shows up after payment.
Should see it when you go to activate the sim. It'll ask you whether you want a new number or port in/keep or words to that effect.

Probably. I think it's within 90 days
Nope. Maybe you're thinking of Red Pocket.

I don't know why they didn't do this for black Friday or Cyber Monday. I ended up going with the Red Pocket deal and now I wish I had waited. I haven't received the Red Pocket Sim yet What to do, what to do?

Maybe they thought they wouldn't need this deal and saw that they were losing business?
Best phone / service deal of the year hands down was 12 months of service + Pixel 7 pro for $190 (+tax / fees, but with free bacon!), just before xmas. I am just finishing up my 12 months of service deal with that, but holding out for something similar. There have been almost no deals on pxl8 / pro since the p9 came out, leading me to believe there may be a similar deal coming again soon. All speculation of course.

Just a tip for people dealing with Mint. Historically, they only port numbers during normal business days/hours. If you are switching on a weekend or holiday, expect to wait, regardless of the emails that say "1-2 hours."

My concern is my T-mobile phone roams domestically but Mint doesn't. I have off-grid property with good service roaming on Clear. It is my understanding that Mint won't roam on Clear. When checking the Mint coverage map they tell me I wouldn't have service. Also giving up Netflix and Apple TV to switch.

Damn I just financed 3 phones with Tmobile 4 months ago. If I move to mint I'll lose all my bill credit.

Hmm, have son's phone only on a 3 mo $15 esim deal with them that is about to expire in a few days. Wonder if I buy 3 physical sims for me/wife/son with a new account if I'll run into problems.

Correct. Mint doesn't have same level of coverage as TM.

It was on the email when they notified you that your order was shipped out. It clearly said in there.

"Your Mint service starts from the time that you activate your plan. Mint Mobile SIM cards and eSIMS can be activated up to 45 days after you receive your SIM." which is pretty much the same especially if you purchase an esim

Call customer service and tell you want to leave mint mobile. If you have a few years with them they might give you this deal.
