  • This deal works out to $15 per month. A nice offer since Mint Mobile typically only offers this sort of promotional pricing on shorter duration plans.

I had Mint for one year until about 6 months ago. Two things made me switch to US Mobile: data prioritization and extra fees significantly increasing the price at renewal.

Data prioritization: I live in a semi-rural area, so the vast majority of the time this wasn't an issue. However, occasionally on weekends when people were home my phone data would slow to a crawl. Where it became untenable was during power outages (including lengthy ones during natural disasters). My phone data was literally useless. I couldn't even check the weather apps. This was my #1 reason for switching to an MVNO that included priority data.

Fees: US Mobile charges you the stated price, inclusive of taxes and fees. Mint's price was much higher than expected due to taxes and what seemed like extraneous fees.

So far I have much preferred US Mobile. Even though I have to use the Verizon network (slower data speeds) in order to get priority data, I haven't had any issues and it's still plenty fast. During the last major power outage I had zero issues with data. I plan to keep them when it comes time to renew.

Not really! There is a $25 "recovery fee" and other fees which might bring the mint deal within a few dollars of the visible one

When you go to this page, it states at the bottom T&C this is only for new customers. If you login to your account and try to find the discounted plan it is non-existent. If you know a workaround please let us know. Thanks.

Why call and give then any chance, Seems you would think after 5 years like me you just leave for better service and customer care others have unlimited at 20$ monthly why would you or I stay?
I am kind of tired of asking for the retention offers. Just port to different carriers from time to time, most of the incentives are only available to the new customers, even good for someone porting back in after a few months.

How reliable is this network? Asking for those who live in urban cities. Better than Boost Mobile?

T-Mobile Connect is $15/mo without commitments and without de-prioritized data like Mint has. I just switched my family and leaving Mint is a TERRIBLE experience. They lock you in by not providing you your account number ANYWHERE. Must call support and jump through a thousand hoops for the info. They were fine when we had them but with my experience leaving them, I'd definitely never go back!

Mint required the following info to give me my account number for T-Mobile to port my #...
Full name, full address, last 4 of social, current phone number, sms/text verification code, and finally the middle two of social for some reason. About 2 hours later, I had my account #.

I also have been hopping from New Customer Deal to New Customer Deal with Mint Mobile + Google Voice. I got a warning SMS and Email today:

Mint Mobile: We detected that you've recently activated onto a promotional offer exclusive to new customers, which is against our Acceptable Use Policy. If you continue to buy and activate additional new customer offers, we reserve the right to adjust your plan to a 5GB plan.

Enshittification continues. They were great for years, and mere months after getting acquired, start pulling stuff like this.
It's an automated email automatically triggered. Also keep in mind Ryan Reynolds no longer runs Mint. He caved in to corporate giant Tmobile for the money. Most corporate giants lack the personal touch with customers.

Just got two sim cards and ported out from T-Mobile, good to know you can use the sim cards on an iPad as well as iPhone. Nice to know the plan can be used for internet only on tablet vs just a phone line, porting over was easy they send you QR code for eSIM

I've been with Mint Mobile a long time (7 years) and no go talking with Retention Department to get this promotional plan. The only offered 4 months ($30/mon) credit toward standard Unlimited annual plan ($360 - $120 = $240 + fees, taxes). Looks like I'll be switching to US Mobile when my annual plan finishes up end of Jan.
There's no need to be loyal to any of these phone companies anymore. If you know you can easily port to another carrier and be considered a new customer if you wait a certain amount of months before coming back to the previous one, you should just keep moving like a free agent athlete.

I live in Los Angeles and just switched from Mint to Visible. I had issues with call and txts. I'd completely missing some calls, they'd go straight to VM. Txts were worse, as they wouldn't even be received. The sender would ask if I saw their txt, and I'd see the message before and message after, but some txts were missing. Not just show up late, but never arrive. The txt would show as "received" on the senders end. I haven't had this problem since switching to Visible.

I am an existing customer and got this same deal via email, $180 for 12 months of the 5gb plan. Going to do that instead of the usual $75 for 3 months I do now.
5gb for $180 for 12 months is their regular renew price, every one can get this price now.

I was a mint customer over 1.5 years ago. Can I get this deal now? Also is it 180$ flat for one year? Or are there other monthly charges?
Recovery fees, etc. See section 10 of Terms and Conditions

There are not such fees buying from Best Buy, but Best Buy is not running the same promotion at this time. Let's see if they also have it later this month.
Target has 3-month kit deals on 20GB ($30) and this/UNL plan ($45).

pretty funny that you think that Ryan Reynolds had anything to do with 'running' Mint Mobile.

you are correct that he 'caved' and cashed out.

I am jealous of RR...I am a 70 YO redneck and I want to have his babies. 💋

is it worth to switch from US mobile WARP plan ($25 unlimited basic with international calls free) to this one? I missed the recent visible+ annual plan with free iphone 13.
