  • This deal works out to $15 per month. A nice offer since Mint Mobile typically only offers this sort of promotional pricing on shorter duration plans.

I had Mint for one year until about 6 months ago. Two things made me switch to US Mobile: data prioritization and extra fees significantly increasing the price at renewal.

Data prioritization: I live in a semi-rural area, so the vast majority of the time this wasn't an issue. However, occasionally on weekends when people were home my phone data would slow to a crawl. Where it became untenable was during power outages (including lengthy ones during natural disasters). My phone data was literally useless. I couldn't even check the weather apps. This was my #1 reason for switching to an MVNO that included priority data.

Fees: US Mobile charges you the stated price, inclusive of taxes and fees. Mint's price was much higher than expected due to taxes and what seemed like extraneous fees.

So far I have much preferred US Mobile. Even though I have to use the Verizon network (slower data speeds) in order to get priority data, I haven't had any issues and it's still plenty fast. During the last major power outage I had zero issues with data. I plan to keep them when it comes time to renew.

Not really! There is a $25 "recovery fee" and other fees which might bring the mint deal within a few dollars of the visible one

When you go to this page, it states at the bottom T&C this is only for new customers. If you login to your account and try to find the discounted plan it is non-existent. If you know a workaround please let us know. Thanks.

Does anyone know, how late can you postpone to activate the sim card? Also, will 5G unlimited data compatible with hotspot router?
Activation within 45 days.

Regarding the Amex deal, can someone confirm that you can only split credit card payments through chat?

does anyone know how sign up works?
I'm hoping to use my friend's credit card for the Amex $45 but it only asks for billing information.
What happens after I place the order? Will i be able to port over and set up the account in my name?

This is tempting
I tried them a few years ago, I believe they use T mobile towers. I found that Redpocket was a better situation. You can select your carrier and right now I have service for appx. $24/month with 25GB data with hotspot. Visible is Verizon and they usually have promotions as well and starting rate I believe is $25 unlimited 4G service including hotspot!

As far as I know, there is NO way to split credit payment to redeem double Amex offers. Agent ( call, chat) confirmed only one payment card/method can be used. Paypal doesn't have the split pay option for Mint, although it does for other merchants. Let me know if you find a workaround.

ln the past, Mint would just send you the sim card activation package. (with sim card and activation code). The package would not be tied to the purchaser. You would be free to activate it yourself. Or give it to someone else as a present to activate themselves. I think its still the same with Mint.

Thanks, is the total 180, or there are any additional fee like connection/activation or any other fee . TIA
Yes, there's a MINT surcharge that they call recovery fee which comes to around $25 (+/- a buck or two). There is also legit government taxes which for me comes to around $3.xx. So real price for me is around $208. NOT $180.

thank you! I would need an esim though but I'm guessing once I get whatever they have, then I can activate it whenever I want?

Did you use the same number with mint before? Someone said in some reply that they also check IMEI, is that true? Thanks!

usmobile has same plan Unlimited Flex, $210 for 12 months, then why deal is good deal?

USM $210 for 10GB 5G, throttle to 1080k 2.5G. Feels like 60GB of usable 3G high speed data.

MINT $210 for 40GB, throttle to 256k 2G.

The USM $260 is a better deal for 35GB 5G + 50GB 2.5G= 85GB of useable data and network switch to TMO,VZN,ATT
